FS: Mazdaspeed Concept Hood Scoop
Hey, I have for sale one fiberglass hood scoop designed for the 2004-2008 RX-8's stock hood that is made to look like the Mazdaspeed concept they did back in 2005.
This piece is designed to fit into the triangle design on the hood and sit. It is unpainted just as if you bought it from the shop themselves. The price from hookupshop, where I bought it and the makers of it, is $230 but I would just like to get rid of this as I would much rather have the money than this.
SOLD.
I live in Orange County, California and I wouldn't mind either to ship the part or have someone come and pick it up. It is very light and only weighs a few pounds if that but it is kind of large.
here are some pictures of the mazdaspeed concept car, not mine
I bought this part from the hookupshop a couple of years ago but I decided to change the look of my car and never installed it, its just been sitting in my bedroom all this time. These are a few pics from them on the part.
And here are the current pics of the part with a tissue box in one for size reference.

Firm on $150 or did the price drop at all? I like the look a lot but not too familiar with this and have not seen it before. Is it more for looks or does it actually allow more air flow? I am very interested just need a few questions answered first.

well in its current state it is one piece and has no opening for air to be brought in.
The opening up front can be cut to allow for more air to be brought in but then the stock hood also has to be cut if you want it to be functional.
No, I am not firm on the price, its just that most of the buyers who have sent me offers didnt reply to my pm's back so I couldn't get ahold of them to follow through.

How difficult is the install? Didn't think it had an opening for air but assumed there would be some cutting needed to allow air. If install isn't too bad I may be getting this from you.

If you have the ability to cut your hood then it shouldnt be too bad but because it fits perfectly into the stock triangle on the hood it can be held on with double sided tape, but I would suggest taking it to a bodyshop to have it molded to the hood. I can imagine that if it was held on with double sided tape while being cut open, with enough air, it could fly off.
It's more of a decorative piece when used with the tape but for functionality I'd say have it professionally installed
