FS: Konig Super Magic/Thule CS10 tire chains to fit RX-8 18" wheels
i recently sold my RX-8 and am left with a lovely set of Konig Super Magic tire chains, size 100 (fits OEM 245/45/18 tires). these chains DO clear the fenders, and are allowable as per the RX-8's owner's manual. the chains i'm selling were actually never used by me: i bought them new last winter, test fit them once in the parking lot, and never got to try them out before selling the car.
why are these chains snazzy? i'm glad you asked:
the self-centering, auto-tensioning design along with the quick release system below are what makes these chains the best out there, bar none.
and what sort of outfit is Konig? Konig is an Italian tire chain manufacturer, and their Super Magic design has won all sorts of design awards and european certifications. here's the konig.it product page for the Super Magic, and below are some of the awards it has won:
even if you haven't heard of Konig, you probably have heard of Thule. Thule likes to buy out companies that make superior products, such as Sportworks in the bike rack arena. Thule saw that the Super Magic chains were way better than anything else out there and bought Konig recently, thus acquiring Konig's awesome design. long story short: the Konig Super Magic thus is exactly the same as the Thule CS10. both the Thule CS10 and the Konig Super Magic tire chains go for $200 MSRP.
i'd like to get $100 for this particular set, including shipping to the 48 states. i'm willing to bump this thread periodically through winter if that's what it takes to get this price, and if they don't sell they're a cool enough piece of hardware and engineering that i'll keep them around just to admire, even though i don't have an RX-8 any more.

Once the chains are wrapped around the tire, the installation process is completed when the vehicle is set in motion. As the wheels turn, the self-centering and auto-tensioning system activates and the chain tightens around the tire. This eliminates the need to exit your vehicle and brave the elements to re-adjust snow chains. For easier installation in the dark or during the day, all attachment points on the chains are color coded.

bump+ unsolicited rhetoric:
yeah..... snow chains didnt even cross my mind in irony when i bought i my 8, lol. ppl should stop bitching about the rain in seattle, and start mentioning the snow
the most frustrating part is, with TC and DSM off, she handles like a sailboat on powdered sugar in the snow... she's just too low to make it through some of the deep patches. two hours of digging, starting in 2nd gear, stalling, and a $70 bottle of Scotch for the neighbors who dug me out = lesson: learnt
