Our HKS is for sale due to trading in our car.

The HKS is definately one of the better sounding exhausts on the market for the 8. I have Racing Beat on my 8, and from the time we put the HKS on my wife's car, I've wanted to steal it from her. Definately a better sound than the RacingBeat.

sorry, 550 wouldn't be enough to cover the costs involved in shipping or in finding a stock exhaust. Most people don't have on to their stock exhausts when they do a swap...most just throw them away.

 

I've heard some sound clips of the legamax outside the vehicle. Does it drone? Consensus seems to be that it's loud only when you get on it while near stock levels during cruise/idle ... is that what you are experiencing?

 

^^^ does not drone, this is a GREAT sounding exhaust. HKS quality is top notch

 

Loud inside the cabin during cruise/highway driving?

 

It is "throaty" on cruise/highway conditions..as well as on the street. It is nice sounding from inside the cabin.

Just as a side note...we meausred decible readings for several exhausts the day of our 20 RX8 dyno day. All exhausts were in a similar decible range except for the Agency Power...which was the loudest. My Racing Beat with RP supercat is loud, but was still within the range of all the other exhausts.

 

So compared to stock the HKS was only a few dB higher? Not looking for a huge sound increase .... I prefer subtle bordering near stock. The sound clips from youtube seem to indicate that it's relatively quiet from the outside unless you get on it.

 

Racing Beat may be better suited for you...to be honest. You'll be happy with HKS, especially given this price.....but if you really are concerned about Db's..check the product websites and they should give you actual numbers.

how long did you have these for?

 

I think the exhaust went on the car around 12k miles...traded in the car around 36k miles.....these are guesses at best.

question, where can I get the titanium tips for this exhaust.
