FS: Rare Helix exhaust

SOLD

I am selling the Helix exhaust that I bought just a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I somehow figured its a 3" diameter exhaust, it is 2.5" I already have a turboxs exhaust which is 3" and it will fit my application much better. I bought it only for the looks thinking its 3"
All the info can be found in the link below:

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-sale-wanted-44/f-s-helix-exhaust-400-cali-local-pick-up-144615/

Exhaust is located in Chicago

$400 locally

$450 shipped anywhere in the 48

the piping before the y split is 2.5"? i thought their piping diameter was 76.3 mm. that's what production was advertised at.

ha thats why I thought it was 3", now I remember converting it from SI and thinking it was 3". But it is not. It is roughly 2.5" Cant say what it is exactly. I just put a ruler to it.

I think this exhaust would be perfect for NA people, contrary to what Benjamz mentioned in his thread.

Welds look good in my opinion. Supposedly they were re-done. Look at the link in the first post, all types of sound clips can be found there. I did not put it on. When I got under the car I realized the turbo xs pipes were bigger, so I just decided to stay with them.

i have the turbo xs pipe but cut it and flipped it so it would fit stock exhaust's and what not, you think it would be big enought to fit on my midpipe? and i guess since you didnt hear it, wonder what it will sound like w/ a midpipe? and how big are the tips?? so the exhaust besides the welds look good too? no rust , scratches not noticeable?

I never put it on so I cant tell you more than what its on the other thread. I am the nth party owner or what not but I never used.

This exhaust is however very rare, maybe some sentimental value, and supposedly sounds awesome na, so If you don't like it Im sure it would sell.

i know you think it may be ok for n/a, but i had it on my car and i felt it personally, it felt worse then stock even if top end might be good, the split at the end is what causes it to do this... sorry about the slip up on diameter, it was metioned in the thread i referenced....

im sorry your not happy with it, i would have at least put it on and found out 100% percent for sure if it would have made a difference..

but for N/A it feels worse in mid to low range... thats from experience.

Macius8... for you i want to make sure that we stay on good standings...

when i re-open rotary extreme, if you see anything you like, free shipping to you and subscribe to this thread for reference...ok..

just save this for something big so you get your moneys worth...lol

i tried to be honest about the exhaust, i just posted here because i dont want anyone to buy it off you and give you crap about anything.

it kinda comes down to a designer exhaust for looks, thats all about i would by it for.

good luck with the sale

Hey, its absolutely not your fault, the exhaust is as you described, I definitely will look up your products in the future. According to the sound clips this exhaust is worth the sound alone and looks are a major +

exhaust is wrapped in bubble wrap and cardboard, boxed and ready to ship.
I posted the pics just before I boxed it and will not take it out again.

If it doesn't sell by the time Im back, which is beginning of June, I will probably take it apart and use the mufflers for a custom exhaust. However since it is a real rare exhaust I would like to give an opportunity for someone else to have it.
