Also, Anyone who is interested in these, you are welcome to call Tire Rack (sole SSR distrubuter) and check for prices, and also see what sizes are available.

Feel Free to do so.

Price Gouging!

This is a steal. Jus the other day before I bought my wheels, I saw this (whom i was tempted to buy from).

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...hlight=SSR+D5r

So its OK for someone to sell a used set of 18" D5R's for $1k but I can't sell new 19" D5Rs for $1k?

Pls stay off my post man.

i missed that thread.

the wheels are discontinued, thats why you cant get the center caps from tire rack. i just dont want to see someone pay way too much for a wheel that if they ding it, bent it, generally (*& it up, cant be replaced.

would you like to know what a steal is for those wheels?

that does seem a bit high and that is for both sets....personally i think lurch should know because he has worked with the distributer and has a set of these discontinued rims...also i dont think he would be thread crapping being a moderator and all......sounds like he is trying to assist some buyers so they dont pay too much......i would make you an offer on these being local but i doubt you would take it........it seems like you may have inadvertantly paid too much for them as well

Well, don't all wheels get discontinued eventually ? You think you can find the exact same wheels after a couple of years anyways? Your out of line man. I'm done with this.

I don't Even wanna sell these wheels but had to! ! I really don't mind taking the risk. And if someone ever bent them, they can also get em fixed and then repolished, People Hardly buy new wheels when they bend em. . .

If noone buys them for that price, you will seem them on my car at the next 8 meet and we can all laugh about this. . I really think this price is worth it. Also, if noone wants them for this price, that is totally ok. I appreciate the all mighty moderator help from you guys.

Cheers.

Yeah, I really don't think Chuck was out of line here. Actually, I never think he's out of line but that's just because his nature is to HELP people... not rip them off.

they're just trying to help.
if you keep getting pissed at everyone helping, chances are you're going to remain the only one with those wheels.

In my own defense from the other night...I got this response from Rx8 Fanatic the next morning. I'm not mad at him for changing his mind, that is totally cool. But we actually "shook hands" that it was a done deal that week, to then get this PM from him. So for all that back and forth in wasting MY TIME and HIS (which he obviously has no value for), he also wasted time and bandwidth on this forum and made me look like an idiot in the process.

Dude, don't do this kinda stuff in the future, DO YOUR HW B4 YOU MAKE A DEAL WITH SOMEONE AND DON'T LEAVE THEM HANGING AND ASK FOR THE WHEELS TO BE ON HOLD. UNBELIEVABLE.

Hey dude sorry to tell you this, but I am not interested in the wheels anymore. I saw some pics of them and a photoshop of them on my car color, and didn't really like it. Good luck with the sale though.
