Good eye Swoope. I forgot about that piece since I didn't use it when I installed it. Given my luck finding stuff I'll say, no brace or screw.

 

I tried quickly to find a pic of the missing piece. If you look by the brake, you can see a screw. Basically, that screw and a stopped-type piece that rest against the brake booster are missing. The use of this piece is optional.

 

all you are missing is a bolt a stop nut and the pad that rests against the brake master cylinder.
