I just looked at that thread and as far as I'm concerned EVERYONE there, and unfortunately including a moderator, who was bashing you is out of line. Put it on ebay. A part is a part and if someone wants it, they'll get it. Apparently none of those guys wants it. They just can't keep their mouths shut about it. I don't go into a store just to talk about all of the things I don't want and then bash the store for selling them. That's what happened in your thread. Your reasons for selling it are no ones business.

I also have to bring up the SS person who posted about you giving the door back to the SoCal club. He's out of line too. At SS7, people were winning all sorts of prizes in the raffle. Right down to a bridgeported 12A engine! The next week all kinds of these items were on ebay. The next year Bernie mentioned at SS8 that this was fine. It was their property now and they had the right to do with it as they pleased. This has never changed the fact that there is still a raffle. It's your part. Do with as you please. No one has a right to say anything about your desicion.

Thank You RG.

I didnt want to say why i had to sell it at first. I ended up defending my self trying to presurve my reputaion on the boards because i did want to become a forums vendor.

The reason i didnt put it on ebay because i thought a board member would appreciate it more

RG, since you brought up my name.....

although it was mostly the fault of some of the So-Cal RX Club guys, as the few who made the decision to give DXT the part did NOT have the full right to do so, when I found out that we let the part go for a "DONATING VENDOR", and figuring that the vendor would truly appreciate door as the historic piece that it is (not saying DTX doesn't), we didn't want to make a big stink, so we let it die there and then. Believe you me, I raked the So-Cal guys over the coals for such a stupid move on their parts, but it-was-what-it-was... but it seems that some of DXT's percieved actions at SS-10, and seeing the door being sold on the forum, so soon after SS-10, has made several people suspicious as to the motives for him acquiring it in the first place... regardless of the reasons put forth. The funny thing is, DXT turned down a few other pieces that were offered up to him first that he felt were, what I can only speculate to, of lesser value, or cool factor, when he presented the springs to-trade the guys.

The So-Cal guy who posted has gotten a lot of crap for this faux-paus, and I'm sure that him seeing the door for-sale here made him feel even worse for his mistake and he wanted to post to clear things up...

You said it... WINNING things, not trading them in for a donation to the raffle and good plug. I'm not upset at DXT, he played his game and won over the So-Cal guys at SS-10. But, seeing it for-sale here now has erked a few of the peeps who knew how he got it.... what can I say, if you play sometimes you get burned, as seems the case here. Again, DXT has the right to sell it, and I'm sure if he would've won it in the raffle there wouldn't have been one comment about it, but the circumstances here are just different, and DXT is getting crap, right or wrong.... lessoned learned by the So-Cal guys I've reemed, and this whole deal has only proven me right!!!

I do agree, and I'm still holding the same position on selling SS stuff, but this being, as many say, the USA and the weird internet universe, one knows folks will opine regardless of correctness... DXT has made the decision to post the item here for sale, and many have disagreed with his decision, and let him know, regardless if they are right or wrong... such is the nature of the crazy car forums.

DXT-Motorsports, all this being said, in the end it's your part, and you have it in your possession, so you can do what you want with it... just don't expect everyone to agree with your actions, even if it's not their right to... it's a car forum.

A little advise to you DXT, as an aspiring VENDOR, be careful how you deal with negative or adverse situations in public. Your actions under pressure is what really shows who and what you're made of. Others may try to harm to your reputation, but it is nothing compared to the harm one can do all by themselves.

Best wishes on your future business ventures and the sale of the door. Hopefully it will go to someone who can assist you with your financial situation, and fully appreciate the piece for it's historical value.

Regards,

-Bern

p.s. I didn't want to get involved, but this kind of thing really makes it hard for us at SevenStock to receive great donations of this type, for future SS raffles. Some of the racer/vendor folks who donate things like this, now hesitate to do so, because they see their stuff up for sale on e-bay or other places. Not judging right or wrong, just stating a fact. Cheers!

Ok i said this before i deleted the post about the door.

The reason i wanted to door so much because i had plans of framing it and putting it up on my wall.

The other pieces dimensionally were not a great choice for framing.

People can say what they wish about me. Im the type of person who will always own up to something.

But in this case I have done nothing but speak the truth.

Everyones hateful comments have been generated from opinions on what actually transpired that day and why i may or may not have been thinking...

To be honest bern i was more than impressed with the willingness to give me the door for the springs at the event. Weather or not they had full permission or not.

I had every plan to donate multiple items next year as it goes to a good cause and is a good promotional opportunity.

But to be honest the socal member who came on this board making half cocked accusations and basing everything on his opinion on the situation completely soured me on the staff that runs the event.

It showed no tact from on business/organization to another. If he would have msged me privately i would have been more than happy do discuss the reason of sale via pm or over the phone.

Everyone was so quick to judge me for my sale of this item. Most people didnt even care to hear what actually happened.

You heard it guys...giving our opinions on a public forum is now OUTLAWED!!!
C'mon fred, you know I normally agree with you on stuff but that comment is a bit out of line.

Lets go delete all the threads where people give opinions and the ocassional bashing occurs and see where that leaves this forum...

Anyways, back to our regularly scheduled programming...

DXT: sell this thing if you want, it is after all yours. I never questioned that, just questioned the ethics behind it.
I truly hope this piece ends up in the hands of someone who can appreciate it for what it is. (that's not a knock on you)

Seriously I would like to keep it and still have it framed i just dont have the money / time to do so right now.

That is the exact reason why i posted it on the board and not on ebay. To find another owner who would have appreciated it as i wanted to.

Also Opinions are fine everyone has theirs on this board.

What i believe Fred is calling out of line and what i feel was out of line too. Is the fact that people were bashing me based on their opinions of what I was thinking at the time i received the door.

haha i know but it was getting out of hand if i had not deleted the first thread i started we would probably be at 3 plus pages now and none of it relevant to someone actually interested in the sale of the door.

Just people and their opinions of what i was thinking at a specific point and time.

Yes I understand this was your intention.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, I didn't really see much of the other stuff.

Like I said, I'm not mad at you or anything... I would've been impressed to, a killer one-of-a-kind piece for a set of springs, what's not to be impressed about!

Well I hope you can get over it, and still see how good it's for business, but more importantly for the support of the community. I know that this might not mean much to you at the moment, but think it over.

And at least one of the guys who stated his point of view, was the So-Cal guy you dealt and spoke with directly, so not much I can say but that his view is as valid as yours, as you two were the ones there.

On the same token you could've contacted So-Cal on the down-low to let them know of your situation and that you intended to sell the door, and perhaps we could've offered some assistance... not because you needed our persmission or anything, but for tact as you say.

I didn't really see it, but I believe you my man. Just understand what some others may have perceived, wrong or right. I'm not judging you bro... just wanting to give the full story. Again it's your door, you can do with it as you please.

Cheers,

-Bern

Thanks Bern

If i knew it was going to raise all hell I would have contacted you guys first.

Never in my wildest dreams did i think this was going to get so blown out of control.

I thought when selling it that my loss is someone else's gain and some lucky guy or girl was going to get a piece that i though i would be able to hold onto forever.

EDIT: Bern the stuff you didnt see was people saying my intention from the start was to trade the springs so i could sell the door for money...

And from what transpired over the last 2 days i doubt anyone would buy the door anymore. So im just going to have to find a way to raise money somewhere else.

No problem my man... just so you can see how this got out of hand... just a few days after SevenStock, you were already hinting that you would sell it.

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multimedia-photo-gallery-6/70-speed-source-rx8-autographed-door-127626/

You did give it a "ha ha" kind of joking deal, but some may have already began to get the wrong impression. I'm not sure if you contacted those folks (L8APEX, R Magic) who showed interest in the door in that string, via PM, first or not, but the perception was that you might be thinking "hey there might be a market for this thing".... again not stating that this was your thought, or state of mind, but people will only draw conclusions from was posted and felt at the event... but as you see, the little things can snowball on forums. So when you finally did post it for-sale, and gave your reasons, others were definitely not to sure your moitves or reasons were true; not that it matters... but...

Guys, let us all live and learn from this deal and move-on. DTX, PM those who showed interest and let this discussion go here. I hope another RX-8 forum member buys and enjoys the door, as much as I think you might've.

Yea i stated earlier but it was erased if someone offered me $1000 for it i would think long and hard.

It was more so a joke. I was entertaining the idea though.
