no, it was a fuel line that the dealer didn't completely tighten when he had his engine replaced a week before. it's a good call on taping up the connections, we don't know how much fuel or oil spewed all over his engine bay or if there is any left. don't want another fire...

This is a good solid system (I know I picked out the mobo/cpu). Very quick, hibernates and resumes very fast. Considering the amount of custom work and labor that went into this, it's a very good deal and a very CLEAN setup.

I won't help anyone with the install. yes it can go on the internet. I don't know what the d3 unit is.

$650 for the system and $350 for the monitor/mount
(system includes gps, car2pc, blah, blah, blah...)

I will only part them out in this configuration and only if i have two interested parties. If one person backs out, I won't sell the other half. If you've already paid, you'll get a 100% refund.

I called mazda the next day and they didn't give a rats ***.

I don't mind answering simple questions, I just to want to get suckered into installing this. Is this kit plug n' play? no, it's not.... but it's as close as your going to get for a carputer.

You will need to run a constant power wire and an ignition wire. The ignition wire can be tapped from the rear power outlet. The constant can be tapped from the bose amp. you'll need a ground... that can be tapped to anything metal in the car.

You'll need to run the steering wheel controller cable to the radio. This also handles the sound.

you'll need to mount the gps somewhere. The back deck doesn't work very well because of the rear defroster. Dash board works great, you'll need an usb extension cable.

you'll need to install the monitor and run the required cables....


i'm sure there is more, but thats the general idea.

this is worth faaaar more than $1000. i've built all my computers and i would be all over this if i had $1000 to spare.

 

I should also mention that I upgraded the motherboad, cpu and ram in June of this year. The hard drive has 2-3 years left on the warranty.

I've been interviewing potential buyers.... this needs a good home with a person that knows how to use and maintain it.

 

If I had the technical know-how on how to install this awesome puter I'd be all over it... I can build custom PCs all day but having to wire everything in the car is completely over my head. Sorry to hear about your car. I remember now that this is the thread I saw about your 8 getting burnt up. Good luck with the sale!
