Hi,
I bought this unit new. Took it home and pluged it in to make sure it worked. Went for about a 3 mile drive. Removed it and placed it in the carying case. We where going to use it for a road trip so I pluged it in and it wouldn't work. So when we got back I called in to have it repaired. I could not find the receipt. () So I had to pay for the repair, On/Off switch replaced. No big deal. Got it back and have used it a few times for road trips. It's worked fine.
Now it just sets in the box. We don't drive as fast any more.

I'm asking $210 shipped with USPS.

What? Broken? But fixed? When did you buy it exactly?

 

The On/Off switch was replaced 10-07. We've had it about 2 years now.

Hows the condition of it? scratches and stuff?

 

The only way to tell this unit is used is because there is some slight marks where the windsheild mount slides in & out. We don't use it when in town because don't want some thief busting out a window to steal it. It's only been used about 6 times.
If you don't like the cond. of the unit I will buy it back. (less shipping)

Does this thing have to mount on the windsheild for it to detect?

can i just leave it in the glove box?

 

Per Escort manual "Mount your Passport to provid a clear view of the road from the front and rear".

 

It needs to see out the windshield, unless you have tiny 5-0 in your glovebox. Also it needs to be high enough to see out the back also, unobstructed. If you want to hear any cops coming on your rear, that is.

 

damn....I only ask cause its illegal to use one of these here...thought I could hide it...guess not...

 

Get a Beltronics STI. It its totally undetectable by cops. Look it up

 

I was under the impression these were only illegal in DC & VA.?
I mount it up at the top of the windshied behind the window tint strip.

 

I mean if a cop pulls me over and see it...not detecting it..

he would rip that thing right out and take it...

 

If he pulls you over, just take it down..

If he somehow sees it when your driving, just say you just moved from another state where RD were legal and just left it in the car. Not plugged of course. < That works.
