Custom tow hitch - through rear rotor shape

Category: Accessories
Price: $250
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): Series I
Location (US State/Canada/Int): SC
Item Condition: Used

Custom made tow hitch for S1s. Clamps over bumper reinforcement bar, and the receiver sits in the rotor-shaped hole in the rear bumper. This takes a 1 1/4" draw bar, and I will include the draw bar which makes a small trailer sit level (at least my 4x4 trailer). Effectively invisible when drawbar is removed.

Will ship UPS to lower 48 for cost; if you're willing to come by Charleston, SC you can have the bumper reinforcement with it. Bumper cover too for extra $.

Made of welded plate and angle steel and painted with multiple coats of black paint. I used the rear tow eye for the safety chain attachment. Used this to tow a small trailer for autoX, moving, and generally not having a truck any more.

Any photos of the removed hitch, or with the bumper cover removed?

My old hitch has issues with my current exhaust, so would like to see how it is mounted.

Thanks,

I thought I took pics when I built it, but I can't find them. I have the stock muffler and there is plenty of clearance. The hitch goes vertical up to the bumper beam but not much to the sides - the whole thing is maybe 10" wide.

Class I only, obviously.

FWIW, the car I got the idea from was a winning blue '8. Might have been yours if you put the hitch build on the web somewhere.

I'll try to get pics looking straight up from under - might be this weekend as I don't get home until after dark.
