Depends on how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go. On the easy end, it's good for reading and clearing engine codes so you know what those dashlights mean. On the opposite end, you could use it as a tuning solution for a full turbo setup. Depends on your use case, but it's definitely nice to have around.
