Brand new engine for RX-8 - 232HP

Engine for model 04/05, 232 HP, manual transmission, 6 gears, 0 miles, in original packaging, never unpacked, directly from Japan.
You can see on the pictures that the package have few oil stains at the bottom but I contacted supplier and he said that this is normal because in the factory the engine is highly protected and usually when it comes to the costumer oil stains appears on the package.

Price = 5500 $

maybe a close up of the stickers on the side.. also i dont think they ship motors with oil in them..

this just odd in a lot of ways..

maybe open it up a take a shot.. i am curious as to what is in there..

tall box for a small engine. Wonder why he is selling it. I see the rx8 in the background but, it doesnt mean that it is the engine for it. Did they flip it over a few times as the oil stains per-say, they are all over the bottom on both sides. Fishy to say the least.

Just never seen that cardboard box before. Plastic crate, yes.

Green tag say's "Mazda Motors (Something) Europe".

naw,

that is what is odd about this.. if you have ever seen an engine crate it does not add up.. unless it sits in the box on its nose. and there would be no reason to do that...

Where'd Barkley go?? You'd think if he's trying to sell something quite that expensive, he'd be a little more cooperative with the information so that everyone could stop playing detective...

OMFG...you are worst then old ladies talking on the market place...
I am serious about selling so if you have some questions you can discuss it with me...please there is no need to attack me because you have some foreseeings (photoshop ).
I can take a close picture of all stickers on the package...with resolution 2816 × 2112 ...that is max. what my camera can do.

I am from Slovenija (EU) and I got engine through guarantee for my RX-8.
About my visiting of this forum...I have 12h/day job and I realy don`t have much time for anything...

I will try to take close pictures of all stickers tomorrow...if I tell you the truth I don`t actually now what are all this codes and marks on stickers.

Interesting choice of words, Mr Broccoli (that's a joke btw, anyone get the reference?)

It might be difficult for you to make a deal on this forum. The difficulties would be related to:
- transferring money internationally (no guarantee for the buyer)
- shipping the engine
- customs

You will probably end up having to open the box and take pictures of the engine itself..

No bad feelings btw, just from the perspective of someone in the US, whenever someone from tries to sell you something expensive internationally, there's a good chance it's a scam, so don't take the negative comments personally.

Hope you can find a buyer.

What did they guarantee? That you have 2 working engines for one RX-8?

Still...why would he have two? They take your original engine if they replace it, no? And there's no warranty that I heard of that states having only 1 working engine is a defect... :-P

Well, my current engine is low compression and it still runs But that's another story..

Barkley - might help to explain how you came about this engine...

I looked at the pic again and it definately looks chopped to me. Notice part of the green sticker is over the plastic tie strap on the left side.

To his defense there is nothing wrong with how it was shipped. Oil tends to seep out of the engine even if it's been drained. They usually sit an engine on a plastic crate inside the box and pack formed foam around it along with a heavy plastic bag, but the bag can tear in shipping and oil can seep from the lines.
