Can a push-button be used in place of the ****-start ignition switch? Or would that require the other system that's listed on their site?

 

Yes you can just buy the push button from them or get your own since I think their sis just an OEM Lexus push button. But double check with them to be sure but the guy in the video is using an OEM STI push button.
