LOL... you are not going to believe this.. Maybe I need my ears cleaned out or something. For 2 years, I've been listening to that little kid and I've always thought he said "somethin's up"... LOL... and he is actually saying "Zoom Zoom".

I have now found out how to make a mp3 work as a ringtone on the Treo 650. Two peices of software have to be purchased. One is a mp3 player and the other is a utility that tells your treo to play a selected mp3 through your player. Specific apps that I downloaded are: "AeroPlayer" music player (http://www.aerodrome.us/) and "TreoGuard" utility (http://www.geakware.com/treoguard/).

This worked as advertised but I'm not really happy because it doesn't really function inside the palm utility "Sounds". It just overrides the "Known Caller Tone". Also, I really don't want to pay for software just to play a ringtone.

So, unless the tone can be converted to a midi file, I don't think it will work the way I want it to on the Treo 650.

I welcome any suggestions.

Yeah, I don't have it as a ringtone for that very reason!!

I play it randomly just to **** people off. It tends to clear your workspace quickly, I find....

 

I have it set for all of the GA RX-8 Club members.

Will work with just about any semi-new phone. It will basically upload your item, and send you a text message with a link. On your option menu for that text message choose 'go to'. Or similar option to download it.


Anyway I took this ringtone and edited it...kinda of. I use it for when I get txt messages. Instead of playing the whole song everytime I get a message. I cut it to only say "zoom zoom" in the low whiper at the beginning. So instead of it going thorugh a thirty second spell of mazda patriotism it just says zoom zoom to let me know I have a message waiting. Cool huh? Well if anyone is interested in this I will post it up later.

Good stuff. I just got the RAZR for Verizon. Since I've already noticed a few people telling me that it's a waste of money (even though I got it for exactly $0 and no tax) I've decided to carry around a small razor blade inside the phone. If anyone gives me guff about it I'll just slice em up real good and say "that's why they call it a RAZR".
