Good Luck though...
So they are cheap, yet you see anyone else running same power levels with more expensive parts? NO. Cheap can be good sometimes, go look at the Rx7club forums and you will see many people running "cheap" turbos on their Fcs for drifting and they making good power levels and having a good running car. If the part is cheap and performs right then you have to be STUPID to spend 4x more on something that performs just as good. If you have the money to do it, then go ahead. But im 19 and ill have a car that performs "as" good as most of you people with "NON CHEAP" parts. Oh well, and like i said. If anything breaks i DO got the money to buy authentic, just why bother doing it now when i can get something for less than half the cost??

I know my greddy turbo kit sucks, never said it didn't. Easy to upgrade though.
I actually do not know if they are infact ebay, but that Al guy was and is the first person to encounter them problems. So if NO one would of encountered them problems then nobody would be saying they are cheap, knock offs, or whatever. And like you said, your greddy is so easy to upgrade, Isnt mine too?? i mean if turbo sucks, can't i just buy a "authentic"?, what about Waste/bov, TiAl has same wastegate with same "V clamps" and bov. So if i didn't want "cheap" parts i could upgrade to those, but ill wait for mine to go boom before spending unnecessary money. Just like what your doing with that greddy

Hey man, different strokes for different folks,
Just keep us posted on the running tab and cost of your kit when you finally realize you have all the parts you need to run it without blowing up. I bet it cost you more over the long hall then.
To me this is just the same logic when people buy knock off bodykits and wonder why when they go to the body shop it cost so much to fit the kit and make it look good, those people always end up spending more than the people whom bought the authentic.
Im not trying to attack you but your thinking just doesnt make sense at all... Bandaids may not be able to fix it, thats all...
Again good luck,,,

No your logic is wrong, your attacking Esmeril kit because one guy had a bad experience. Please post up all the other bad experiences and **** that has gone wrong with peoples turbo kits. i guarantee you, you wont find many. I personally haven't seen anyone with problems, except that "one" guy. So far i have $4,300 spent on this kit. Which i really don't think ill have to upgrade anything soon. Kit was used and guy ran his perfectly. At end if your "cheap" parts go out, i can spend about 750 and get a TiAl waste/bov. then another 1500 for a turbo. Id spend about 7k for a "better" parts and stock piping. not bad at all. Iv spent about that on the car already, Yes NO knock off **** goes on my cars exterior. Except that turbo!!!!
But my logic is simple, I plan to break, burn, destroy most of the parts on my engine trying to reach HIGH hp. So rebuild, new turbos, all that is on my list of things to do/get. Im building a fast track ready rx8 so got to expect all that.

Thanks for the good luck, i need it for this damn stripped nut

So your planning on blowing up your engine???
Why not just buy an engine build it up first to handle the higher hp, then buy your turbo and drop it in???

I am not talking about that thread actually. There were some other threads on here making the ebay parts claims. Al's thread alone did not influence me to think they were ebay parts. It was just something discussed more than once....

can you do it from under the car? or is that the way you are doing it?
with my greddy, you have to install it a certain way or it will not fit

yes, it has been done
when importshowoff had it in his car before he sold it, the shop he had install it relocated it out of harms way. I believe Joliet Wankel bought the kit and is selling it right now, complete with the relocated wastegage.

was it the bracket that holds the lower radiator hose?

esmeril had instructions to bend it out of the way. maybe its that.

I had a bit of fun taking the manifold out yesterday, I can't wait to put it back in haha!

Bend the radiator support up and then twist it towards the passenger side fender. Also, the small bracket that holds some hard lines can also get in the way, it sits directly below where the turbo will end up. Good luck, and hope all works for you!
