Thumbs down Wrench in Tire Mod

So tonight happened to be my lucky night!....................NOT!!

How many people in your life do you know that have had their tire pierced by an ENTIRE WRENCH?? I was shocked when I got out of the car to find half of a wrench sticking out of my rear passenger tire. Here are a few pictures of the damage.

I'm sure that by tomorrow morning my tire will be entirely flat! Guess I can put more pressure on myself to get a new set of wheels/tires rather than just "A" tire. With that said, I'm glad I didn't lose control or that my tire didn't burst immediately. I'm safe, the 8 is safe and that's all that matters. It'll be towed first thing MON. morning.

By the looks of that tire tread you were on borrowed time anyway, so I wouldnt sweat it. But that is wierd as hell.

Any mechanic knows that he looses about one tool every couple of months by leaving it under the hood of a car he has worked on and forgetting about it until after he test drives it. Now we know where those tools go.

And it's a cheap wrench too. I feel for ya man.
My GF had a 1" wood drill bit go through her tire and break the rim on her 8.

It's usually the back tire.....

Item lays flat on the road until the front wheel skates over it and flips it into the air - rear catches it just right, and wammo!

Pretty crazy ****, glad you and the car are ok. Just be thankful this happened to a tire already past the wear bars.

Yeah. The more I think about it, I'm glad it happened to a tire that was on it's way out the door.

Again, just thankful for safety, and that the tire didn't burst entirely further damaging who knows what!

Safety would be in having tires with actual tread on them. Ikes.

was just showing this thread to my GF. Was explaining it was a mixed bag since the OP needed new tires anyway. Her response "If you can see tread then you don't need new tires"

It's weird, she got upset cause I couldn't stop laughing.

Once again my statement of "do the opposite of whatever your girlfrind says when if comes to cars" stands strong
