Winning Blue Supercharged RX-8
Got some new wheels and the weather was beautiful (high 70's, and sunny) so I decided to take a few pictures:
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...5/DSC02900.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...5/DSC02898.jpg and a couple of older ones of the engine bay: http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...5/DSC02384.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...5/DSC02383.jpg and for those of you that prefer Velocity Red over Winning Blue, here's a nice picture of marsredr100's supercharged ride: http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...5/DSC02823.jpg |
Sex.

So beautiful - I'm actually in Melbourne every year to visit family, we have pretty much matching cars except for the engine bay/MS spoiler...same stance/wheels/strakes/painted calipers.

Can't get enough of that s/c - cars looks great. If I ever learn how to post pictures............
|
next time I go FI, its going to be the Pettit S/C
|
"G"................car looks good(as usual). How did the mounting go......any dings or scratches? If not, PM me with where you got your tires mounted as I'm not that happy with the two places I tried so far.
It was a nice day wasn't it? Spent all day clay barring for the first time, then waxing after that. Then I played around with the new Scanguage II that I just got. |
looks awesome. WB FTW!

They both look amazing.
|
awesome cars, what front bumper is on the red 1?
|
I think racingbeat^ also, bastage, 'bout time you got some wheels! nice!
|
I love it. Most of the really fast turboed/supercharged 8s on this site are horrifyingly ugly. Crazy front bumpers that look terrible, two tone garbage no one wants to look at, extremely ugly spoilers, gigantic front air dams...but yours is beautiful. Some rims, clear corners, and a good spoiler. And kudos for keeping the stock appearance package. :)
|
Yess very sexy! ill give you my kidney for that set up! =]
|
Very Nice Wheels!

Any more photos of the red 8 with the full RB bodykit?
Is the red 8's SC also Pettit? I'm assuming but thought I'd ask. Thank you in advance. |

I'd roll your filter to hide the seam on the bottom.

I went to Island Lincoln Mercury in Merritt Island because of a friend's recommendation. I looked at the wheels after they finished and at first glance they looked fine. When I got home I checked them a little more closely and noticed that one of them had a pretty decent sized scratch around the center. I don't think I can recommend them after seeing that, especially since I politely asked the guy to take his time and be careful.
I'm heading back there a week from Thursday. We'll see how it goes. |
For what it's worth...........I stand there politely and don't let them use an air gun. I make sure they torque by hand after my first experience. :)

Yeah, I totally agree... I even like the stock rims... but I like these better because they're an inch and a half wider, and almost 5 lbs lighter.

very nice, love the rides.

How do you REALLY feel, lol.

^^^ I predict this thread will get very interesting very soon
|
Bastage, if you don't mind me asking, how much have you spend on your setup??? I'm thinking of going the FI route and the pettit supercharger is the one that appeals to me the most, specially after seeing it in person. I know the stage 2 sc retails for $7500 and installation is about $1000, but overall, including tuning other upgrades(if any), etc... how much has it been overall???

$4995 for the supercharger $1400 for the interceptor-x (Which I later sold to a fellow forum member and used the proceeds to get the flash) Installation was free. In total, I spent about 6500(including taxes) on the Pettit kit. It's not cheap, but the peace of mind of it made it a bargain for me. This is what they're currently charging: Stage II 275 WHP & 185 lb/ft $6,694 tuned Stage II CS 300 WHP & 195lb/ft $7,144 tuned The tuning is basically a reflash of your ECU, and it's included in their price. As for the thread getting ugly. I don't care. All he has is a worthless piece of paper |
Bastage, thanks for the quick response, I'm still doing my homework and researching as much as I can before going FI.
|
fight fight fight
thank god my warranty is holding me back from fi... |
how many miles you got left....i have 58500 lol =)

He's right, go spend some time with your daughter, if you really have one. I hope she takes after her mom though.. for her sake. On a lighter note, here's a picture of a very old Ford pickup I ran into while driving through the Great Smoky Mountains: http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...5/DSC02622.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...5/DSC02624.jpg The owner was a pretty cool guy who basically takes his truck up into the mountains every few days to get some fresh air and enjoy the scenery. And here's a car I ran into at the dragon: http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...5/DSC02588.jpg |
