to make a couple more comments. First thank you to all the compliments, this has been a work in progress and a long road to getting it perfect.
The fitiment is almost as perfect as it can be with this headunit. You have to remember that this headunit, the whole screen comes out and folds down for the insertion of a CD/DVD so the unit can not be completly flush mounted like some screens can. The gap on the top right may be able to be closed a little and will be pretty easy, it will just be a small adjustment to the alignment of the unit because we made a special mount for it in the back.
9k I think saying it looks bad is maybe a rsesult of the pictures, but believe me I haven't had one bad comment on it.
I really wanted the original Piano black so I am hoping to continue the work to get it exactly right, lots of sanding and painting and sanding some more. The factory look is really what I am going for. If we can't get it right I will definitely be looking into some other colors or versions of the piano black.
I8 - definitely get that kit DONE! But make sure you have a shop you can trust, the fitament is a little difficult on the front and rear, the sides are very easy.
Thanks again for all the comments and suggestions, its been difficult but a lot of FUN!
