I would apply that to all cruisers even if they aren't loud...

Guys drive harleys so they can fart and not have to worry about stinking up the cabin of a car.

Hahaha what a tool!

Bought it that way. Never painted a thing.

You know you really should learn the facts before posting your diarrhea.
But hey, anyone who reads your posts knows that not the case.

Mediocre and overpriced. Paint and chrome are first rate, though.

It's not the ride or anything. It's the pride factor of riding a Harley. My uncle used to have a big Honda cruiser and he said there is no comparison in ride quality. The Harley is much better. He is not regretting his purchase.

to me ALL bikes are cool, My personal favorite...
Honda CBR 600 RR
Cheap enogh for me, Small enogh for me, and WAY too fast for me!!

but I find cruisers more of a art form and status quo than practical. Then again, who are we to talk about practicality when most of us boght our cars for: fun factor, uniqueness ect..
not practicality.

Exactly. This is my biggest problem with Harleys, there's this whole religion thing about them. Harleys are not better than other motorcycles, there's no reason to have any special pride in them. It's all image, with no substance. Like I say, they don't suck, but there's nothing so especially wonderful about them.

Well, that has not been my experience, not even close. I'll take my Yamaha cruiser over a Harley any day of the week. It outdoes a Harley in every functional category; again, the only place the Harley might win is chrome and paint. Oh, and in so-called "status", which you can keep.

He is not regretting his purchase.
Good, I wouldn't want him to. Chaqu'un a son gout. In the end, it's not what you ride, it's that you ride.

That's pretty funny, because I prefer cruisers over sport bikes because I find cruisers more practical. I like to go out and take long, all-day rides, so I want a comfortable sitting position. I've never actually riden a sport bike, but it sure *looks* uncomfortable to me, and comments I've heard seem to back this up. But perhaps I'm wrong...

Not really into cruisers. Love sport bikes and choppers though. But I really do wish some of those bikes were a little quieter.

Tell that to the bad-***, better-than-god weekend riders on Harleys. I wave at every other motorcyclist on the road, as do 95% of them at me. The missing 5% comes from the fact that only about 15% of Harley riders will wave at you if you are on a sportbike (Honda F4i). Almost everyone else, no matter what they are on, be it BMW sport turing, Honda Goldwing, or Kawasaki dual sport, will wave at any other rider.

I can't see why anyone that drives an RX-8 would want a Harley. Sportbikes aren't that uncomfortable, and riding a Harley is like driving a SUV- everything in the world is good until you have to turn. I've ridden 8 hours straight on a sportbike, and while a cruiser might be a bit more comfortable, it also takes you 12 hours to get there

I've honestly wanted to ask someone you a couple questoins, because I've been wanting a bike for as long as I remember. The thing is everyone says their soo dangerous. I personally don't think they're, in themselves, more dangerous or more likely to crash. I think that it's the fact that when you do you don't have great odds. So, how is the saftey factor?

Also, as an Rx-8 Owner, which do you prefer for fun? Let's say on a really nice clear day, what do you take out to go for a cruise?

Sorry in advance for the thread hijack!

I have owned about a dozen motorcycles in my adult life ranging from sport bikes to dual purpose to cruisers. Included in those were a Harley Road King and a Buell Lightning.

Let's get one thing straight, regardless of what you read or see in the media, Harley's products are NOT that reliable. They require constant attention. Probably due to the fact that it's basically a design from the 1960's and has required constant tweaking to keep in conformity with the EPA and such. The older tube frame Buells were/are horrible. I don't know so much about he newer aluminum frame ones.

Most Harley riders are trendy types. Just trying to keep up with the "Jones'" type of attitude. I am constantly shocked at the amount of Harleys with super low miles I see for sale. That should tell you what kind of folks are buying them. Not true motorcyclists, but just simply poseurs.

I just sold a Kawasaki ZX 11 D. It was a fine motorcycle. A little of the porky side, but pretty fast and comfy to boot.

The best motorcycle I have ever owned would be a '86 Honda VF 500F Interceptor. It was not quite as fast as the omni present Kawasaki 600 Ninjas, which everybody seem to have, but it was great looking and the handling was phenomenal.
