Note: 99% of the parts in the RX-8 are made in Japan. To verify, for those who held on to the original window sticker, check the percentage of parts that were made in Japan. For simplicity, we'll just round up to 100%
TC = Total Cost, which is the Price of your car + Amount spent in Mods.
nJDM = Total of Non-JDM Mods (Racing Beat, Hymee, etc...)
Forumla:
(TC - nJDM)/TC = % jDm yO!!!
Now For Example...
I lost 4.4% JDMness because i chose to go with the RP High Flow Cat, Racing Beat Sways, and PTP Gauge Pod.
Now if you want to display your JDM Style, go ahead and post your JDM Percentage.

But my JDM index is pretty damn high (>100%) if you dont count tires in the formula (BFG is an American co., Right?). Are wear items included in the JDM index calculation.
