Pettit's looks nowhere near as good as the strasse.. It's too bad the strasse kit is so damned expensive (2100 for the entire body kit unpainted and you'll need to pick up their exhaust for the rear which is 1200 for stainless or 2000 for titanium, not that it doesnt look incredible.)

LOL, Well...I feel sorta the same...I'd rather increase performance FIRST...then mess with the 8's looks. Heck...it looks so dang good already!

Something that concerns me right now is that the superchargers/turbo's seem to be getting no more than 50HP out of the Renesis...I know in other cars, while keeping in mind you can't compare...can get up to 100HP from a supercharger/turbo.

Most likely it's because of the normal/low psi...and cause the Renesis is so new.

My plan, cut 100 pounds off the 8, take the Renesis (w/o SC/Turbo) to 250HP...then add a SC/Turbo and get it to 300-325HP...do you think I'm realistic?

Only 50HP... Well you ca look at it this way. Some Toyota Celica FI kits put 50-100+HP on-top of the stock 180HP.
So with the 8 having 228+HP then add 50HP = 288+HP thats not bad. Or 197HP + 50HP = 247+HP...

BUT, 300HP just sounds so perfect...LOL...you can't argue Dom...can you?

 

300 perfect? Eh. It's not enough if you ask me.
If you read the aftermarket forum, you'll find 2 things slowing down FI on the renesis: Compression Ratio and more importantly ECU tuning. Because the ECU is totally encrypted, tuners are having an incredibly hard time getting the tuning right for boost. If they could program the ECU, life would be much simpler but currently, they can't.

I'm still waiting. I want to see what can be done with the stock ports and the ECU tuned properly, then turbo and then openning up those ports. I know 250 is easily achievable on the 6 port just by openning the tertiary ports. This engine holds a lot of potential. It'll be a while before it really gets realized.

 

Trust me its only a matter of time. Someone will crack it. They did on the 3G...
