Luftwaffle 12-17-2004 11:28 AM

Sweet Jebus, how much is shipping to NYC from Italy?

hfalex 12-17-2004 11:31 AM

I think it costs too much (shipping overseas).
Soon we'll put a sort of "udsed not used spares list and price" on our website.

czr 12-17-2004 11:36 AM

Gutted 8s. Couldn't you just sell them back to Mazda? Too bad there's no ebay in Italy.

XDEEDUBBX 12-17-2004 11:50 AM

you ever seen that movie national treasure??? this would almost fall into that category

markd 12-17-2004 11:56 AM

Do you think you could have make those pictures any bigger?? I have having to scroll left to right!

Xyntax 12-17-2004 12:00 PM

Just curious, how much does the average gutted out RX-8 weigh now?

hfalex 12-17-2004 12:00 PM

EBays in Italy exist since a lot!!!!!!!!
But.....i don't know why...everything is still here.
I think in 2005 our we'll find the way to put everything on sale.
We have tons of rims, navigs, seats, AC, doorpanels, clutches, radios, dashes...
:)

Nice Q.:
Now the car is about 1130 Kg.
Bout we'll be ablo to save 15Kg more with the new rims (magnesium alloy), new dash (with telemetry).

The my'04 racing car has about 255hp with 98 ron fuel.
The my'05 will have about 16-18hp more at the same rev (more torque), a new rear LSD, new flywheel, new ECU mapping, new DSC mapping.
The car complies the FIA grp.N rules.

We're still working on the supercharged version.

Ciao

magixpuma 12-17-2004 01:21 PM

I could go for those leather seats :D

Benedick 12-17-2004 03:39 PM

I think lots of us would be interested in your spares. I could do with an 18" wheel to replace the one that got scuffed going through the car wash. Very interesting and entertaining pictures to post. Thanks.

Xyntax 12-17-2004 05:42 PM

Thank hfalex! ~500 lbs of savings huh? Nice to know!

Not that it matters now, but why didn't you guys just buy base models to begin with?

You guys could benefit from a large USA group buy :D

YoungDriver 12-17-2004 05:54 PM

yeh im with the idea of a group buy... im with everyone on the new seat idea and i like Benedick need a new wheel but dont wanna pay mazdas price... mines a lil more than scuffed :(

dannobre 12-17-2004 06:23 PM

Put it all in a container....send it to me....and I'll sell it for you :D

VelociRedBeast 12-17-2004 10:45 PM

I want leather seats too, I'm going cloth right now.. :(

hfalex 12-18-2004 01:51 AM

Hey guys for sure all theese spares have to be sold, but i'm here on this forum just to spend some time talking about the '8 and i'm not sure it is correct to place an advice here.
I'm not even a sales man...you know what i mean.
What i can do now is talking to whom is working on this and tell him to place the spares list and price ASAP, but on the Astra website.
Last but not least...since today we're closed for XMas holydays...even if at east 2 guys will be @ Astra always.
:)

StealthTL 12-18-2004 02:18 AM

kromix 12-18-2004 03:12 AM

I can set up a group buy on the seats if you guys want as I am interested in a set, I have a RECV company that can get a pretty cheap price on a crate from .it to us, only bad part is the distro when it gets here... I'm in Miami, FL.

If the price isnt too bad, put me on the list for a complete set of black leather seats and perhaps the trim panels as well. If we can get them to Miama, I am sure an extra shipping charge can get them from there to our door. ;)

Omicron 12-19-2004 10:05 PM

If anyone does want to set up a Group Buy on any of this stuff, please get with me.

And hfalex, I too enjoy your posts. If you would like to use RX8Club.com as a conduit to sell all these "spares" please PM me and we'll get you set up as a vendor. :)

This is a first pic of what we're going to present on jan.
A RX8 Sport cup replica.
It's a RX8 full optinal, with racing engine (260hp), adjustable set-up (dampers and sway bars), carbon fibre rear wing and front bumper, inconel Xost, racing gearbox and rear diff...
Every car will be built choosing the color of the interiors and a silver plate numbered near the gearstick.
;)

Nice, can I just trade my car in on that? I too am interested in seats and nav...

BigOLundh 12-20-2004 01:50 PM

If i was one of your sponser and saw how our money was going to extra cars that are being gutted/sold for parts... I would cut you off instantly.

Seeing how I am not a sponser, and a regular 8 owner... When will you be posting the parts that are for sale?

Outta curiosity wat freq range are ur radio stations in Italy ?

Tamas 12-20-2004 02:14 PM

Getting the nav would be nice - but I'm not sure if that is a realistic project. I remember posts here on the forum that retrofitting the navigation system would be a major pain because there is quite a bit that needs to be replaced. Some major cable harnesses?
If that's not the case and installing the nav could be done without spending 1000 bucks for labor, I'd be interested too - does anyone know for sure what is involved?

hfalex 12-20-2004 04:34 PM

BigOLundh: what do you mean exactly?

Zavhan: from 86 to 108

RotorManiac 12-20-2004 10:08 PM

Nice thread. Very interesting information.
I think the nav system is one part most people will try to get...

hfalex 12-21-2004 09:56 AM

Hey guys, i just posted some curious pics.... i'm not a sales man!!!!

About theese spares.
The best thing i guess is a group buy, both for europeans but especially for people overseas.
:)

GrRx8MaZdA 12-21-2004 10:30 AM

Where can we find prices for the things we want from the "used parts"?

hfalex 12-21-2004 12:53 PM
