Guys, I guess I'm not seeing what you're seeing.
I see an "anti-automobile" commercial here, and it's not against any one particular act of driving or speeding or racing or carelessness. This is call out against cars in general, and they're saying cars are destructive machines that kill people in every way imaginable. This video doesn't take into consideration the amazing quality of life that the automobile affords us every day. I have no doubt that the douchebags behind this video would rather see everybody walking to their destinations instead of driving a car.

Its not the point that their just actors, it opens your eyes.

Picture someone you love in your head.

Now picture some jackass in a honda civic running a red light and hitting them.

Did you enjoy that thought?

Thats what videos like this are supposed to do, make you think which in turn will make you a more concious, responsible driver.

I don't need to see actors dying in far fetched situations to teach me that cars can be dangerous, and I'm certainly not going to be moved by some ridiculous dramatizations. Yeah, I realize that if I swerve to avoid a cat at 150 and roll 8 times and pin some young lovers against a brick wall it might hurt a little. Show me some real people hurt in real accidents and I'll have an emotional reaction.

Oh, and it's just as likely to be a soccer mom on her cell or an elderly person running a red light as a riced out honda... probably more likely. And besides, how is me being touched by this video going stop someone else from being a dumbass and killing my loved one? If watching this video will make you a better driver, great! I appologize if me finding humor in it offends in any way.

Its irrelevant whether its a soccor mom or a honda. Irresponsible driving is the same no matter who does it. You're one of those people who doesnt get moved by these kinds of vids, I just hope it doesnt take a real life occurance to wake you up.

It took one for me.

Wow... this video has made me think and i'll share this with my friends
Makes me think twice or three times before i speed down the highway
I would hate to see someone die in front of me cause of my or someones
mistake, takin a life is just something that will scar you and people should
be more careful how they drive and be more aware of the things they do
and consider the people they could hurt, I agree with most of you this should be
shown in the U.S i believe many ppl would be touched and try to pay attention of their actions

I think this video does what it sets out to do, which is to portray that public driving is a huge responsibility and that the automobile can be a deadly weapon in irresponsible hands.

The wake of sobering comments here is evidence of that.

The benefits of the automobile is another reel IMO.

I'm wide awake. Just because I'm not moved by this video or haven't hurt someone in real life doesn't mean I'm some ******* driver who thinks he's invincible. Hearing about a real pedestrian getting hit by a real car on the news (even with no sensational video to go along with it) makes me think much more than this video. I take driving seriously. It actually annoys the hell out of my g/f because I'm not much of a conversationalist while driving and I won't take my eyes off the road for a second. Like I said, if this video makes someone else a better driver, great! But it cracks me up.

Don't get me wrong, like I said, I don't think I'm invinsible or a perfect driver. But hearing about facts or real accidents makes me think much more than made up dramatizations. Maybe it's because I work in media and do editing so I see something like this differently than others. I'll stop making fun of this video now sinse you are all so emotional over the dead actors and I'm obviously pissing you off.

Not to defend Aipex, but basically he has a very good sense of the difference between fiction and reality. That video was fiction, based on real life possibilities, just like time travel is fiction, based on real life possibilities, doesn't mean its gonna happen.

With that said I think a video like this would affect younger drivers more. I consider myself quite the skilled driver, or at least more skilled than most, and must admit I have done some foolish things in the past, but I have learned from them. I know my cars limits, because I have been past them, I know when I am about to break traction, because I've done it. I know that avoiding an accident is more important than braking, because braking usually results in lessening the impact, rather than avoiding it altogether. I have practiced many maneuvers in abandoned areas, off the road, and they have been useful while on the road. I am 21.
I think this video shows the results of showing off, which lead to many mistakes.
This video shows the effects of panicking when behind the wheel, which is a huge problem ( I refuse to drive with certain people, because they are prone to panic rather than react).
This shows the affects approaching a blind curve at high speed can have.
This shows that CELL PHONES ARE A MAJOR DISTRACTION which I cannot stress enough.
This shows the affects of over driving your vehicle, or driving beyond your vehicles capabilities.
Last but not least, this shows for the last time... just hit the damn cat already. I've seen first hand people wreck cars to avoid animals, and just a heads up, insurance doesn't cover you unless you hit the animal, so good luck.

I think that all people should be subjected to some from of High Performance Driving Education before receiving a license, it would have proven useful to me before my first accident.

These are made up and dramatized. The couple scenario does seem far fetched, almost comical if they were cartoon characters.

I've seen an inattentive person get hit by a bus. That teenager getting hit with the cell phone is way too tame.

However, the point is that it's designed to remind people of the gravity of their responsibility. There are some, possibly many here who don't need the message, but if it wakes up a few, then the message is successful.

I dont understand all the skepticism to this video. Car accidents happen all the time, and people are killed all the time. Who cares if the events of the video did not happen? If it doesn't make you reflect one bit, even for a second, on what can happen in the worst of circumstances, then I just think you're dense, that's all. If you are taking some defiant stand saying "Oh this is stupid, real life accidents are much more compelling for me" just think about what you are saying. You are saying that people really have to die before you will give anything credence.

Of course a real life accident in front of your eyes will carry MORE weight, but it's not to say that this video can just be summarily ignored based on the fact that they are actors.

Even if you don't care about other people, at the very least, this video should trigger SOME kind of self preservation instinct in the viewer.

the cell phone was stupid.

They need to show someone driving a car and using the phone.

That's how my brother was killed.

A 20 dollar fine for driving using the cell phone ain't ****!
