The wait was worth it.
Hello All!
After almost four years of grueling waiting I finally got my RX-8!! I love the forums (RX-7 & RX-8 Club) and I'm so happy to finally be apart of it! I really wanted my first ever post to look this good. :P 09' RX-8 R3. Oh my oh my. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0/DSC00268.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0/DSC00269.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0/DSC00270.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0/DSC00273.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0/DSC00278.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0/DSC00275.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0/DSC00279.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0/DSC00274.jpg Sexy. |

I <3 Those Seats!
Anyone know the weight? |
I think a cool first mod would be to swap your seats out for a slightly used set of cloth 1st gen rx8 seats... ;)
congrats on the purchase... let us know what you think about that motor |

Anyone know the weight? My owners manuel says this, GVWR (Gross vehicle weight rating) Manuel 1,732kg(3,818 lbs) Auto 1,752kg (3,862 lbs) GAWR (Gross Axle Weight Rating) Manuel Front 842kg (1,856 lbs) Rear 901kg (1,986 lbs) Auto Front 858 kg (1,892 lbs) Rear 907 kg (2,000 lbs) If that helps at all.. I'm not sure it does. :| Yea, the seats are awesome. Perfect fit. I love it. Wheels are hot as well. |

For some reason almost no one at the dealerships around here knew what a R3 was. One dealer even tried to show me a 09 Sport insisting it was a R3! It was a crazy experience. The out the door price on the offer they gave me was $34,714.23. If you live in the area, the dealership in San Jose said they would be getting a R3 sometime in Sept. I don't know what color though. Goodluck I hope you get exactly what you want! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0/DSC00280.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...0/DSC00283.jpg The LED's look amazing in person. Pictures just don't do it justice. I'll try to take better pictures soon. |
ive been thinking about the R3 alot lately.
urs is hotttttt. |
That looks awesome! Come out to our meets in Dublin. I'm sure almost all of us would love to see it.
|
that is amazing looking. i like it a lot
|
i want your seats!
|
I won't let the '09 grow on me! :eyetwitch
Welcome to the addiction. |
Those LED rear lights look awesome! That's the first R3 I've ever seen detailed pictures of. Everything but the front looks unbelievable. Are the seats comfortable? They look insanely supportive. P.S., those are by far the most wild wheels Mazda has ever produced for a production car. You should get A/M wheels and sell those to me. |
Otherwise, very nice car!!! Congrats and welcome. |

|
omfg......congrats dude, pawndage :D
|
damn you got the black R3? i was going to test drive it on Monday!!! I hope the sport is still there hahaha.
|
w00t! Congrats!
|
did you buy it or lease it?
looks cool. the ONLY 09 that I like is the R3. i think the other 09s look lame. the local dealer has a new 09 spot and GT. i didin't even bother test driving them as they look stupid to me. they did have a couple GT models of the original body style that have the OEM appearance pakcage on it - and those look slick. a black 08 and a while 06 - both with the appearance kit and spoiler. that is a nice setup...but NOT as nice as the R3. my big curiosity is HOW well does an R3 handle?!?! it is supposed to have a better suspension setup - but how good? better than a 40th anniv edition or shinka? stiffer? would a new R3 outhandle an 08 with konis/springs? i guess i'm wondering how good the 09 R3 really is. bang for the buck - you can pickup a low mileage used 06 or 07 for $20k. then you buy shocks/springs/sways/strut bars and better tires - that stuff would cost maybe $3000 parts and labor. so 23k is your investment. that car might run circles around an R3??? or is the R3 THAT GOOD in the hanlding dept that it is almost like an oldermodel with all the MS stuff on it? i recall an online article where the magazine editors had an rx8 decked out with all the mazdaspeed stuff and they commented that it was one of the best handling cars they had ever drfiven - doin the slalom faster than a 911 carrera S...... pretty impressive... |
Wow, it looks surprisingly sexy! Especially the tail lights at night. Congrats.
|
Badass. Congrats. |
Looks fabulous, congrats & welcome!! The wheels and seats being my favorite part
|
nice car
|

So far it handles really well. Quick, responsive, and really smooth. After I drive it around a little more I'll give you more insight to how the car feels. I've been into RX-7's for so long and I love Mazda and the rotary. My daily routine for awhile was work then work on the Ex's SA. So naturally the RX-8 caught my eye right away. I've been looking at a bunch of RX-8's including the Shinka since the release but the timing was never right. I actually almost bought a brand new Shinka not to long ago. I think they wanted like $28k for it, but again the timing just wasn't there. The patience paid off I love my R3. Now if only I could get my hands on that Furai. :P |

You can ask? I like the hands free Bluetooth. Comes in handy, there being crazy about the cell phone law here. I don't really care to much for headsets, I'd rather be listening to the car and not having to worry about even finding my phone is nice.

That's OK, I was only joking around ... I did realize, of course, that the steering wheel wasn't really installed upside down--mine turns like that too, very useful when steering. Much better than getting out and picking up and moving the rear end around.
Hahahaha that would suck! "straight, straight, straight, straight, DAMNIT gotta get out my super duper floor jack again to make this turn.." |
