Vinyl wrap the whole car? Crazy.

This is the best way to do a radical paint job like any matte/flat color (black, white, yellow, blue, etc). Why? First off you don't rape your resale value (I know, 8's blow as it is, but think ALL cars). Try selling a matte black car, LOL, it's going to be tough. With vinyl the buyer has the option to leave the wrap on or peel it off and have perfect paint underneath.
I agree getting a car wrapped just plain white is pretty lame, to each their own. If I were to get my car wrapped I would go matte black or white, or even lime green or something crazy. Why not? It's free to go back to the original color if I don't like (granted you just blew the cost of the wrap, tho, LOL)
On a side note, that car has one freaking DIRTY engine bay! Clean your engine, man!

I can't believe how of y'all never... ah hell save me some typing....
i can tell you im pretty sure they did all the door jams. now, did they do the inside of the fender, that you can see when you open the door? probably not. did they do the inside of the engine bay? again.. probably not. (it would melt, im sure.)
and i cant believe so many of you have not seen this before. getting a vinyl wrap of your car is almost always cheaper. if you have patience you can do it yourself. i vinyl wrapped the front of my car and it took a lot of patience but it looked good and a year later i had 0 paint chips. until the bodyshop decided to try and take it off? i dont know what that was all about.... happened when they installed my bodykit. they should have just left it alone. anyway...
its cheaper than paint. its reversible. it doesnt chip from stones. if one area gets fucked up. no big deal, you can redo that area. its a lot tougher than paint. and maybe in 5 years, its life is over. so guess what? bam! you get to redo your car in a new sexy style. or go back to the original paint.

and you can vinyl wrap the car in any crazy graphics you want. thats the beauty of vinyl. its simply printed. you can get crazy custom graphics that would cost tens of thousands of dollars if painted. and you can get a whole lot more detailed with printed graphics.

Yeah I know wraps have been done, just never really saw anyone change the stock color that way. Plus most of the wraps I have seen up close are done sloppy. They look okay from far away but sloppy up close.

i wrapped the front of my previous bumper in clear vinyl. it was not exactly EASY but it was pretty damn straight forward. all it took was patience. and a heat source. i think the front (12" of the hood and forward) took me about 3 hours. the bumper took the most time, obviously, with all the curves the oem bumper has. i did mine on a 90 degree day, my car parked on the street, with a blow dryer.
even at charging $100/hour i do not think an entire car would take more than 20 hours to do. so i think $2k is a pretty reasonable price. me being an amateur, it would take longer than a professional. but i still think i could do an entire rx8 in under 20 hours. including door sills.
