Nice vids & good driving! A thought for next time, push your RV mirror up as far as possible to get a better view thru the windshield for all of us :D !

On track, I actually NEED that rearview mirror to see who (if anyone ; ) is coming up behind me! And it also lets me see where I'm looking, which, as you know, is often a critical aspect of performance driving.

I do wish for a better view, though

Maybe you don't realize, but the RV mirror is on a two-way adj thingy. You can make it perfectly useable but just up higher..or down lower. Just grab it with hands on either side and pivot up or down. It's very cool You don't give up any of your view...none at all. Go try it...I think you'll see there is no disadvantage and you also have a better view of the road ahead.

You can set the camera a touch lower.

Good driving - love those high speed corners.

Wow, that was some intense driving! Were you on stock tires and how much tread was left after the track day?

Nice driving! How much track time do you have? I ask because you have what I call, the "I am being stupid" option turned off eg. DSC - right. I couldn't get my car sideways like you did on the one video when the GT3 was chasing you since I was too chicken (mature?) to turn it off.

WAIT!!! WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT

I MUST KNOW

Being 6'2", while driving a car designed for Japanese midgets causes a few problems. The low rear view mirror is one of them.

lol. A car designed for japanese midgets would be an s2k or an nsx. Our car is a lot more roomy.

Wasn't it the EVO's that were having the warrantys pulled? I haven't heard anything about the STi's. My friend was there with his.

Stock tires. This was the 2nd track weekend (the first being Watkins Glen... see videos at www.scottbarton.net/anthony/theglen/videos ), plus 3 or 4 autocrosses, and some general street abuse. The right front tire started chunking during the second day at Putnam, though. I think it was due to jumping the curb coming out of turn 8 (the big left-hander). I'd say they have ~7,000 miles on them and I'm about to replace them with Dunlop SP Super Sport Race tires (and use them on the street! ; ) I don't know how many miles, exactly, because I was running winter tires during the winter.

They wore differently at Putnam Park than they did at Watkins Glen. The Glen caused them to cup the outer blocks more whereas Putnam rolled the edges more. I attribute that to the slower speeds and greater slip angles at Putnam.

This was my third track weekend. The first two were at Watkins Glen first with a '95 325is and then with the RX-8. I ran C group in the first one, B group in the next, and B this time. I was signed off in early on in both the second and third schools.

Yes, I had DSC Off. I actually wore my shirt on the first day that has the hazard logo with the arrow around it and says "DSC OFF" under it ; )
DSC is the Devil. You can't do anything with it on. And you have to hold it for several seconds and get the whole system off. (The ABS stays on, though).

If you're scared of it, autocross a bunch of times and learn how to control the back end (with DSC OFF!)

Ha ha ha Reading your 3 posts makes me laugh out loud so early in the morning!!! :D

Up here in the northeast we have a saying (pls take no offense) and a town called Marblehead.....it goes like this...you say what you said and we say....

"Ahhh...the dawn breaks over Marblehead...ha ha ha:D "

Isn't it nice to learn of yet another wonderful Easter Egg that was loving designed into the 8?
