Well last night my car was broken into and vandalized. They tried to steal the FACTORY stereo and failed. So I guess after that they thought why not key the crap out of this thing and slash up the seats. I have an appointment on friday at for my insurance to inspect the car.

 

why steal a factory stereo? bastards!

That's pretty bad.. Gonna be an big redo.. Interior(seats and the stereo)

I'd recommend making sure there is no issue with the radio considering how fragile our stereo is.

I know how you feel i was keyed also...honda bitches...it was the worst day in my whole rx8 life

 

Stereo gets no power, also the little display for the outside temp and radio does not come on.

Parked close to my house right on the street. New alarm may go in befor car is even fixed. Any suggestions? I want an alarm that goes off if you look at the car to hard.

I called them and they guy on the phone said it should all be cover except for my $250 deductable. Last time I ran over some trash in the road(2k in damage) they gave me no problems.

yeah when i got my car, 3 days later i got keyed!
so from then on it there was no option but to save for a kick *** alarm system

i have the Viper 5901 (remote start not installed) with tilt sensor

but i think you would also want the PROXIMITY SENSOR which is exactly what you want. if a person is within a few feet of your car it will give a warning chirp, if they dont move away from your car within a few seconds the alarm will go off.

but then again you would get a lot of false alarms, so dont set the sensitivity all the way up (adjustable)

there are some proximity sensors that also have an interior field and an exterior field... basically the one that viper has, except i would prefer just getting the add-on sensors for the alarm on EBAY

i also forgot to mention it as a 1 mile range so as long as you park within that range you can tell if a douche hits/ breaks in your car
