UK Owners Club Advanced Driving Day

Hi All,

Four of us form the UK Owners Club decided to head out to North Weald airfield for an advanced driver day with racing driver Andy Walsh.

It turned out to be a beautiful day, and the airfield was packed with awesome planes too!

A Hurricane, a Yak, A Dauntless, a Gloucester Gladiator and Vampire, some constellations, a Mil Mi, all types of cool stuff!

Anyway the driving was amazing and the 4 cars were a pretty good selection too!

Here are some pics. (Vid to follow, when I've made it!)

My Lovely Lightening Yellow, (with Racing beat Flywheel, Agency Power Pulley, AF shortshift and tints, The Tekkens Greddy Turbo RX, with mazdaspeed,/Abflug body, Compomotive wheels, full interior and guage setup, varis(?) blue carbon bonnet, and TONS of other stuff!

Stoups RX8 PZ (prodrive) edition

Tekken and Stoup

Harrizone Mazdaspeed blue. I love the details on this car including custom front accents and bump bars. also has AF short shifter and tints.

More of Harrizones and my car. nice!

Amazing Spitfire. Stoup was fired as video camera man as he missed shot of Spitfire taking off over Tekkens car!!!! arrrgh! hear the beauty of the Merlin Rolls Royce Engine..oh I guess you cant as he missed it! Now he told me off for calling it a Hurricane... doh!

NB Note uber RX8 convoy in mirror of shot too!
I win the RX8 + planes photo shoot that some1 did a while ago!

Full Frontals!

Yay! I love my car so much....the day was great and it handled soooo well.... fantastic fun.... (boy did we have to pump up our tyres.... screeching round 90 degree left handers on road pressure was putting ours half way down the side wall!!!! We pumped them to about 44 PSI or something! Thank god for Mazda supplied rear trunk tyre compressors!

Nice close up of Harrizones extra bits

Tekkens front showing intercooler, eyelids, and carbon bonnet

Stoups PZ, which is lowered with Eibach (or Tein, cant remember) coilovers by Prodrive, and has black front grills and Prodrive mirrors

sometimes they are fairly cheap for standard-ish ones. but they can get very expensive for more unusual ones....

Holy **** that PZ looks like pure evil. THe other three are very nice indeed, but that one just draws my eye for some reason. When I start modding, I think it will be in that direction. PZ wheels, mirrors, suspenions bits. Maybe the rear wing, but probably not. Then petit power under the hood.

Wow! Nice. Don't forget to show us more in the near future.

Close up shots of the WWII planes vehicles and ships would be nice.

ya know I never thought about owning a gas station...might just be worth it at this point.

Seems like a good time, and thanks for another body shot of the PZ. I'm rationalizing my future purchase of PZ parts as justification for being a fan of Prodrive's F1 team straight off the bat next year, haha.

oh, and seems like a lot of side wall roll-over for cars with low and lowered suspensions...

The side wall roll over happened before we upped our tyre pressures. After that we were fine.

If you want to witness such scrubbage on normal tyre pressure, fling your car at 75MPH around a right angle bend. (a few times!)

By the way my cars suspension is totally standard.
Tekken has the Tein electronic EDC coilovers, and the PZ has the prodrive developed coilovers. I think Harrizones suspension is standard, but not sure.

You mentioned a Dauntless in the first post... would that be of the Douglas SBD variety? If so, would it be too much of a bother to post some pics of it? I know it's not directly RX8 related (or even indirectly) but it's one of the few planes I haven't seen outside of static display...

Cheers!
Luke

sorry I don't have any pics of the Dauntless.....

It was the torpedo bomber, which I think was the Dauntless innit? Yeah just looked at Google and I think that was it....

Hello,

Great photos of some individual looking RX-8's. I am a big fan of the PZ, looking to trade my Sunlight Silver 53 plate sometime soon for a Galaxy Grey PZ. "Once Test driven, definetly bitten!!" Next time you have a track day drop me a e-mail as I would love to attend. The sound Of a Spitfires Rolls Royce Merlin is truly a sound to be-hold!!

Best regards,

Darran.
