Ugh this sucks...

Well I'm mad and sad at the same time, mostly mad at myself and can't really blame anyone on this except for me. I tried to make space for my Dad so he could backup, since he was going to the store to pick up some food. There was a party at my house for fathers day and parking was tight. I thought I had enough space so I inched up a little closer to the side of the house, but I was wrong and bang hit my front passenger side of my vehicle. Scraped up the front bumper bad, broke a clear corner lens, scraped up the front fender as well as bent it. Im at a loss of words now, and I'm not sure if I should claim this on my insurance or just buy new parts to fix it and avoid the whole insurance thing. Im gonna go ahead and sell my AFE short shifter in the FS forum since Im gonna need the cash to fix this. Ugh what a day...

meh.... doesnt look bad at all... new bumper if thats cracked and new corner lense... he just rubbed some paint on your car which can be easily clay'd and polished out... and just touch up the spots if it got scratched.

the bumper isn't the problem, it's the metal fender above the corner light.

You should get an estimate and decide if you can foot the bill or not.

The very first day I bought my 8 I left it outside my house, (I lived in Staten Island, NY back then) the next morning as I wake up, first thing I do is come to the window to see how my new car is looking. At first I didn't see it, but then I realized that the reflection on the front right fender is somewhat not right.
I come out to take a closer look and what I find is that some moron, took his foot right into my brand new fender, put a fist size dent on it and deep scratches that went from the fender onto the hood and down off the hood towards the nose.
I was able to pop the dent out by taking off the protective harness a bit above the wheel and pushing it out carefully with my fingers. As far as repainting the scratches, I took her to the dealer, and they quoted me to $300 for taking it out. Off course I am sure you can find a better deal at a local shop somewhere. Just to give you an Idea of what this may cost you.
As with the Insurance, don't even think about filing. First of all, it will not be enough to even cover the deductible, so you'll end up paying it yourself anyway, but your premium will increase sufficiently too, so it'll cost you a fortune in the long run.

A repaint should take care of that. Don't claim it. Becuase of the nature of the incident it will be on your record as your fault, and covered under the comprehnsive portion of your policy. Should cost you less than 400 to get that stripped and repainted for the fender and the bumper as well as replacing that side bulb covering.

I know you feel horrible right now, but hey—the worst part is over. If you got the bucks, find a really good body shop and get it fixed ASAP. With any luck, your car will be beautiful—like new—by the Fourth of July weekend, and you'll quickly forget this ever happened. (Except for the money.)

Oops will take that white paint right off. My wife scraped a white fence with our truck and I used it to take the paint off. Just pour some on a rag and wipe. Then rince it off. It will look a little better until you get it fixed.

Ouch! Sorry to see that on such a beautiful car.

It's hard to tell from the pictures, is the dent above the corner marker creased or just pushed in? If its just pushed in, I suggest you get an estimate from a paintless dent repair place like Dent Wizard or such. If the paint isn't cracked they might be able to push it out without repainting for a lot less than a regular body shop.

Is the bumper scratched or is that paint scuffed onto the car? You mght try a rotary buffer and a cutting compound to see what you can get off yourself. If you want to try that, shoot me a pm.

Well I just sold my AFE short shifter, and I went ahead and just ordered the right clear corner from mazdatrix. The local body shop in town, which does a pretty good job from what I heard is gonna work on my fender. Now I'm debating if I should just ask them to repaint the front, since there's no dents at all just deep scratches on the paint? Or just go all out and get the MS front bumper to match my MS skirts?

Well I got my car back. I decided to just keep the stock front since I wanna save some cash to get some coilovers. But I went ahead and debadged my front and rear trunk as well, might as well let the body shop do everything since the car is there. Im happy once again
