Any possibility of doing the same with the first picture in this thread? It'd be nice to see the whole car in all colors. Or am I asking for too much?

ChopChop to the rescue!

You know, I've never seen the actual Nordic Green RX-8 so I really don't know what shade of green its supposed to be :p But here you go.

Again, really like the idea ... obviously. Even if I didn't copy it exactly.

Thanks D MENAC 7!

Does anyone know if I can just use Mazda touchup paint to paint the hub, or would I need something a little more heat resistant?

No, the touch up paint would not be heat resistant enough to paint the hub. What color of 8 do you own?

The paint I got is made by Duplicolor. It is very close in color to Velocity Red but without the red metal flakes. It is easy to use, it brushes on and it is not very expensive, I think I paid around $15 for the whole kit and there was enough to give mine 4 coats or more but I stuck with 2. It is made for Calipers and hubs. I have seen other brands that are very similar. The advantage to brush on has to do with not having to take it all apart nor mask to any great deal. I never masked, kept a rag handy to wipe up any I accidentally got on the rotor and used a steady hand, only painted what you could see without putting your head behind the wheel. This is dressing, not function. Duplicolor also makes yellow, silver, black and white, I think.

Way 2 go D! I'm definitely going with the red calipers . After seeing yours, I'll also go with the splash guards. I think I like that look better than the aero kit. (Just my .02) What spoiler is that?

I'm gonna do mine this weekend. Do you think it'll be weird to put red paint on the hubs since my car is black? Maybe I'll swing by Home Depot to get some black paint.

Adctually, no, I don't think red would be weird on a black 8. It would be nice contrast. Now yellow...that would be a different story.

The spoiler is an after-market add on. Before I knew it was, the dealership told me it was an OEM and when I asked why it was different, the salesman first said that maybe it was the MS version. Then when I pressed him for the info, he came up with it was the original OEM on the first procution run of the US RX-8s and that they changed it on the next production run. After joining this forum, I quickly found out that they were lying through their teeth. There is much more to that story but I have already told it on here so I will not repeat it again. Anyway, I truly do not know but it came to grow on me and it is unique in that it is just a wee bit longer than the stock (it sticks past the trunk seams) and it is a little wider from front to back though it has a slight upward curl on the back side.

How do you guys think a orange would look on the Green? I just don't think doing it in green would really make it show that well? Plus the photo shops on here aren't even close to the REAL GREENs!!!!!!!

That might push it a bit, but, the only person you have to please is yourself. About the Nordic Green, I have never seen one in person as all I have ever seen is a pic of them. So, it's hard to guess what that green really looks like in person. I have also never seen the Lightening Yellow either but I have the paint and have tested it out.

I saw two nordic greens at my last local meet. Orange would give it some nice contrast. I was also thinking about painting them orange, but it would look a little too halloween on my car.

Well, that is what I was thinking too but, I always try to leave to each his own. It would kind of like painting green on my velocity red, Ho Ho Ho. :D

To each his own, but since you asked...
I think black, red or maybe gold would do well on green, but I couldn't do orange on anything.

How do you paint without getting the flying M painted as well.. is there a way to move it? or do you just mask it?
