Too much chrome?

Here are pics of my 06 GT. The chrome wheels and fender strakes came with the car when I bought it. I added Mazdaspeed exhaust, intake, struts and Whiteline Sways. There’s also an Infiniti basslink subwoofer in there and a backup camera hooked up to display on my Nav screen together with music/video input from an ipod.

Anyways what do people think of the chrome B-pillar appliqué and chrome door handles? The door handles were a pain since I had to drill holes for my advanced keyless entry system but the chrome started to flake off when I drilled. I solved that by using duct tape on them before drilling 

The only thing chrome I haven’t added is the fuel door but I think that takes away from the lines as well as the symmetry of the car.

^+1.....and don't do the filler door either. It's a nice ride, don't ruin it.......that's my opinion.

why did you have to drill the doors for a keyless entry system?

any chrome is too much chrome unless its american muscle.

^Yeah what they said. No crome door handles or B-Pillar. Also, i think you should get some MS side skirts go go with the front.

It's too much for me but if you like it that's what's important. Go nuts. I say chrome out all the body panel gaps!

I have never been a fan of chrome pillars on any car.

ALSO.........those look almost exactly like my chrome wheels. See my pics.
Mine say "LM" something or other, what brand are yours?

My understanding was mine were a upgrade on new 04's but I have not seen any OEM chromes other than the chromes that are almost identical to the stock wheels in design. I'm curious as to whether mine are actually stock or aftermarket.

Personally............on my BB the chrome wheels are enough chrome for my taste.

I don't really like it BUT it does 'go' with your car. If you like it, that's all that matters

Yeah well I decided to go with the chromed out look since the car already came with the chrome rims and fender strakes when I got it and I wanted it to look different from EVERY BB RX8 out there!

No I haven't been to santa ana before I don't think. I had to drill holes in the chrome handles because the advanced keyless entry system (on 06+ GTs) has a button on the door handles and the chrome handles would cover over that if I didn't drill holes in it.

I wasn't sure about the B-pillars either but I think it's funny that I can see my face in it every time I open the doors. haha. I don't think I'll be adding the chrome fuel door.. I think it only looks good on SS cars. As for the MS skirts, I already have the front and rear splash guards and don't want to have to remove those and pay extra $$$ for the MS skirts.

I think silver window tint would make it look awesome on your rx8 (although it may be illegal?) even if its just on the back windows

Pillar just sticks out too much. Its like painting a random rectangle on your car. As others have said, if you had chrome tint it would work.

WOO-HOO!!

Thanks to ghanaboy I now know that my "LM something or other" wheels are freaking ENKEI LM1/5S's!!

I thought maybe they were some lesser known aftermarket wheels, some brand I had never heard of.

Damn, I am happy to know they are a "major brand"

WOO-HOO thanks again ghanaboy.
