Hay guys,
I use a couple groups to get on the local tracks. Green Flag and Hooked on Driving. I just finished directing a video that informs folks on what to do to get ready for the track. It's available at the hooked on driving web site. If you dont want to go through one of the driving schools to gain skills you can get track time by looking on the tracks web site and see who is scheduled. Contact the clubs that have booked the track and see if they are open to letting you join. Most are. Ask around about the club. Some clubs are more fun than others. If you want instruction look for clubs that offer that. Hooked on driving does and alot of people take advantage of it. When your new to a club be courtious on your first visit. Most guys will offer tons of great info. It's a blast. I hardly ever thrash it on the street anymore. It's just not safe.
One more thing. If you go with a club that is not timing your laps "racing" and you crash, your insurance should cover your accident. Instruction is the key here... :-)
