Changes to 2006 model year RX-8:

Optional Hellfire anti-tank missile launcher with laser designator slaved to helmet mounted sight. Available only on U.S. models. Intended for off-road use only (use against Civics with exhaust can > 3" permitted).

From the tread marks on the side, it looks more like it sideswiped it a bit, climbed up, rather than backed up directly on it. If it was a direct hit, I doubt the cabin would have taken it!

Here is another angle, you can see the track marks, definitely side swiped . . . No chance of getting the US government to pay for it. My understanding is that it happened on the property of a defense contractor here in Ottawa/Bells Corners. So much for parking far away from the door ding gnomes, that tank was probably being used for R&D on some sort of high tech gadgets and probably rarely moves.
