Taka vs Porsche Carrera S - Sandown raceway`

First of all I have to apologize to the Porsche driver for that bloody rude comment I made in the clip.

Now I have done it, I can show this to the world.

It is in divX format, so you need player/codec from www.divx.com

Clip (use right click and save target as.. - use the login below)

login: rx8club
pass: taka
(hint: don't panic if the password does not work, it will always work on the last day of each month!)
~ it maynot work now since bandwidth is critical

Nice vid. Looks like you had fun there. Was that orange car at the end a Monaro or a GTO?

Thanks guys for your comments you are right it is a Monaro. I think it was the latest one too. 290kW??

Sam, heel toeing or rev matching??? Well I don't what rev mathcing is so I am heel toeing :p You have to heel toe on the track since it is very important - otherwise i will spin off with shift lock

Yes i have the RP short shifter Yes.

j, read carefully the first post and you will figure it out how to download.

lazi, without having any commission from Richard Paul & co., I think the shifter is ok. It is not a necessary item to drive fast on the track, but boy will that give you a lot of fun. Some people said that I shift with ease and without effort. Maybe I do find it very slick from 3rd to 2nd and from 4th to 3rd.

However, I still mis-shift once or twice that day. So it is very good shifter but not a magic pill for someone like me who still have **** skill in shifting..... :o

Oh I forogt my picture too. There is a pro photographer there to take pics. I got 100 shots in a CD for $60 (that is Australian, so worth nothing in USD :p)

LOL here is the site of all my track days so far

I think the site is not bad for a doc (I made it myself :p and proud of it)

That was a good video, reminds me of the first Rx8 video I ever saw, the one racing the Rx7 where the 7 would run away in the straights but the 8 would real it right back in in the twisties

That's a great circuit video Taka. Don't you love how the 8 goes right up just about everyone's tailpipe in the twisties? It's magical :D ... must drive peps wild to see us always 'right there' after they thought they had got away!

Cool video, that track looks entertaining. It's clear that money can't buy you driving ability from watching that. What was that porsche doing?

Hi Taka,

just wondering how many times have you run your 8 up & down the track?? Nice driving technique there.

Thanks Lennon,

I think I did 8 sessions of 7 laps on that day. And it was the 4th time I did Sandown. So I think I am ok with that track. Have to get the instructor to sit in with me again to get a fraction of an second off. I think I am not still attacking the S bend after the back straight well enough, and I should have gone to 5th for couple of second rather than waiting it to top the 4th gear at 8.5k rpm at the back straight. I could go to 4th before the 2nd last corner and heel toe straight down to 2nd for the turn in - but that will make me cumpsy and make mistake.

Well ... you guys have eaten up 5G of bandwidth yesterday and I think the pass will only hold one more day :o. Watch the clip again on the 31st day of this month!

I watched all my footage yesterday. I think I over exposed that part of the vids.

I should have pressed manual exposure for all of them Nevermind,

We are going to Wakefield raceway Oct - will take vids of Taka vs Hymee S/C ... well hopefully :D
