Awesome! Although I think on #2, the wheels might look nicer if they were turned the other way.... But all of them look great!!!

very nice pics, in number 1 though, i think if you took it a lil closer and with more of an angle(looking up) just slightly, it would have been perfect, very nice though!!
clear corners would be a good upgrade too

Very nice pics. You asked for feed back so that's what this is, not neg. criticism:

Using a wide angle lens looks best with oblique angle shots. This has the effect of stretching out your perspective and giving a long/low look to the car. You can accentuate this with a smaller aperture and longer exposure. It will also increase your depth of field. Good job with the height of the camera!

When doing a 'spot shot' or deadon, back up and use the telephoto. This will shorten your depth of field and blur out a busy and distracting background. Background for the first few was great. Keep in mind that you will have more foreground and background in focus with wide-angle lens (34mm or less) so the houses with lights could be made less distracting and drawing your eye away from your subject by putting your car physically further from the lens and use telephoto (120mm or greater).

Cars, like people, like to have a little more space from the front (nose) to the border of the picture than the back. Centered or blocked by borders gives the subject the feeling of running off the page.

Long exposure, night shots can be played with. You can give the impression of speed with a 5sec. exposure or greater by starting the exposure and then slowly BACKING the car up for a forward looking blur and the back/foreground sharp. Using different colored filters or gels on your lens and/or flash can give very interesting effects. If you can, wetting down the asphalt can give your car a more *intense* look.

With a digital, you aren't wasting anything, so experiment away.

Keep up the good work. Some of the best pics I've seen on the board!

maxwell, great comment! Yeah, i've been trying to play around with depth of field a little more recently. Good thing about digital is that you can just experiment your pictures. I need to save up and buy some different lens for the camera (and clear corners for the 8)

Do you have any of your photography work online? :p

so here i am, a next-to-professional photographer, and i stumble onto this thread. hooray thinks i, we've got a guy here with a very good natural eye for photos and i can give him a few pointers. but by the time i get to the end of the post people have already given out the tips i had thought of. so all i can say now is, great pics man. try some more long exposure/moment photos for me until i get my 8 in may. until then, im keeping the first shot as my background :D
