Some pics from Racing Beat that some may not have seen...

All of these pictures were taken at Racing Beat's non-open open-house, this year the day after 7 stock. For a non-open house, the guys at RB were not only informative but very accommodating. Thanks a lot guys!

I didn't post these earlier because well.. they were still on my camera from 7stock!

I'll describe in detail as many as I can.

If you were there, you can correct me if I'm wrong.

These first 3 pictures are of the turbo that was in the blue car that ran at laguna seca. The car was intercooled with a front mount intercooler and put out 304 horsepower at the crank. This turbo is a garrett turbo, probably similar to a gt23.

The hairy arm in that picture belongs to brillo.

These next three show the motor from the white car. The white car was supercharged and put out 276 horsepower. I don't remember the boost levels and my picture of the dyno sheets didnt come out but I did see them and hold them.

This is also the motor richard paul used to test his first model axial flow supercharger. If you notice the silver shavings on the intake tube, that's from the death of that first supercharger. Richard said he got a little too greedy with tolerances and had a blade collision causing the death of that model. That engine has not been started or disassembled since.

Richard says he's corrected that problem btw. I did get to hold one of his superchargers and the damn things are amazing. So small and light and they spin so smooth. I cant wait to see it on a car again.

Moving right along..

These 4 (and the last 4 I'm going to upload here in this sitting) are of a motor that was pushed off in the corner. The tags on the motor caught our eyes and they should've. When asked (and you can tell just from looking at it carefully), this motor was turbocharged and converted for marine use! That's kinda cool.
As you can see from the tags, it also had a motec ECU to control it.

If you have any questions or would like to see any other pictures please let me know.
I've got about 30 more decent photos but most of them are of trivial items. I do have 2 pics of the actual supercharger from the white car but it was on the "back to mazda" cart and we werent allowed to take it out of the plastic bag.

When you get a chance, could you post those two pictures. I'd be interested in seeing them. From looking at that turbo, I do agree that it is slightly smaller. It also looks like the changed the angle of the exhaust piping.

Here they are. It's in that very bottom bag on the cart in the first pic and the middle one on the second.
