"...all of the motors are so close in hp..."? ive seen 165hp stock dynos, ive also seen 195 hp stock dynos (both on mustangs).

In almost every production automotive piston motor there is a 5% power tolerance. Considering that the rotory has fewer moving parts to deviate I would be surprised to see more then 10HP difference given the RAD is corrected.

Whats more is most wheel dyno operators rarely can make two pullls out of 5 remain consistent within 5% across the powerband. Wheel dynos generally give a good idea of the powerband but really don't give good "peak" numbers. You need an eddy current or a brake dyno for that. Few people want to pay to have their motors pulled, and tires won't grip enough to run a barke dyno test.

A few years ago the Formula Mazdas were put on a crank dyno before they were certified to be sold. I bet little has changed.

BTW for those watching the FM series, Lindsey Adams from Richardson Texas was one of my karting students.
