Snowflake White Pearl

I finally got my RX-8! Heres a few pics:

The plan for now it to try and keep it simple with tint, rims, and an exhaust. I guess we'll see how that goes...

my10ae 12-14-2004 06:41 AM

Very nice pics in a very nice place! :D

Something about the white 8 reminds me of an Imperial Stormtrooper. :)
Looks fantastic.......great pics.

Gambit 12-14-2004 07:26 AM

Damn that looks nice...great pics man

hotpot 12-14-2004 07:38 AM

Congrats. Great pictures.
I don't personally like the stock front bumper on the white, or any other light colour. Makes the car look cartoonish. Get the mazdaspeed one.

TracerRX-8 12-14-2004 08:23 AM

Beautiful Pictures! Love the backdrops. Can't wait to see it with limo tint and a tiny bit of "bling" -T

Audioslave8 12-14-2004 08:49 AM

Awesome, what color interior did you get?

slllygrl10 12-14-2004 09:38 AM

Nice scenery and beautiful 8.

Broke_Apex_Seal 12-14-2004 09:42 AM

I love the white.......................... drool

I wish they had it a year ago dam it dam it dam it...

Holy crap- you're right... too funny :)

TR1GGERx1 12-14-2004 01:57 PM

freakin awesome looking 8.

Gambit 12-14-2004 02:29 PM

I think the little side accents look better on white than any other color for some reason

Spazm 12-14-2004 02:50 PM

Wow...it does look like a storm trooper.

Some type of white/cream or light tan interior (Benz-esque) would look very classy, imo.

flip 12-14-2004 04:02 PM

That white looks tight! :D

\\Konig\\ 12-14-2004 06:12 PM

those are some good pics! Good to see another white rx-8 owner around here (i thought i was all alone). One question, have you thought about what color rims would look good on the 8? Im having a hard time deciding because its more of a pearl white, not flat white.

oh and dont forget to get them clear corners!

BlueFrenzy 12-14-2004 07:25 PM

Looking good! Excellent choice in terms of options! Very scenic backgrounds too!

All you need now are some strakes and clear corners.

I've always loved how the front air dam and side deflectors ... dare I say it, better than any other kits (even the MS kit).

Welcome to the club.

mikeb 12-14-2004 07:30 PM

welcome and congrats

love the pics

I tried to keep it simple too.. but that didn't go too well... look at the sig ;)

That color looks HOT btw

Tamas 12-14-2004 07:37 PM

It is a nice car... however, I never understood what's the big fuss about the RX-8 in white.
White is just such an ubiquitous color for cars, it's probably the most common one out there.

Don't get me wrong, these pics are excellent and the car is pretty - I just don't get it why folks go apeshit about the 8 in white. There are several other color choices where I would kinda understand that - just not the appliance-white :p

Well, this white on the RX-8 can't be fully appreciated until you see it in person. Pictures really don't do it justice. Pics don't really show the pearlecense (sp?) of the paint. IMHO, Mazda did a good job on this particular color.

JmurphRx8 12-14-2004 07:44 PM

Two Words.....clear Corners

Thats one expensive appliance if it has this type of pearlescent white  lol
Looks great in pics, and looks even better in person.

sup3rbad 12-14-2004 09:12 PM

those pics are great! love the white!

Yeah, other colours...

Red. Couldn't be a nice rich glossy red, they had to spill a whole thing of glitter in it. Every time I see it up close I think "if I just had a buffer and enough compound, I could get all of that shiat out of the paint so that it doesn't look dirty".

Blue. Screams "spoiled 16-year-old-girl", or "cheap bass boat". I've seen that colour on too many riced-out Accords, which look like their paint job came from a Krylon spray can. EDIT: Now I remember where I've seen this colour before!!! Mid-80s Mitsubishi Starion/Dodge Conquest - http://www.t-racing.com/conquest_pics.htm

Green. Fine, if you're 60+, wear a tweed jacket with elbow patches and a button-brim hat. Also if the 8 were British, which it isn't.

Silver. Dull, non-glossy, boreing, looks like most of the Passats, Jettas and accords on the road. Seriously - there are more silver cars than white, from what I've noticed.

Gray. The stealth colour. As in, it looks so much like pavement that it doesn't have any appeal, and doesn't show off the lines of the car at all. You also never need to wash it, since it can't get any duller with dirt on it than it is to begin with.

Yellow. Awesome colour, glossy, nothing looks better on the 8. I'll get one. Oh, wait, I CAN'T - it's been discontinued.

Ooops, did I diss your colour? Feeling all outraged? Well.... y'all stop making 'appliance' and 'rental car' cracks about white. I just don't get it why people go apeshit about the 8 in [red/blue/green/silver/gray]. Some of us *like* white as a colour for any car.

\\Konig\\ 12-14-2004 09:32 PM

i love my pearl white

C'mon- you can do better than that! :D

But it is the truth... it looks so damn hot when it's cleaned and waxed, but it requires daily maintenance to stay that way. In winter, with snow & salt, it's a lost cause :(

kiyeoul 12-14-2004 10:38 PM

first white i've seen the the appearance package, looks pretty nice. i have a yellow but makes me wanna get the white one.

Whitehot 12-14-2004 11:39 PM

The first time I looked at the car it was kind of cloudy and the color didn't seem all that special. But the next day the sun was out and it was awesome. It's one of those things you need to see in person to really appreciate. Its hard to capture the effect of the pearl in pictures. As far as the rims, I'm looking to get some 19 TE37's in white.

http://www.wheelsboutique.com/large/volk/te37.jpg

Black rims would make it look evil, gold would bling. Nothing wrong with the two, but white keeps it nice and clean. I actually think any color looks good on an RX-8. The only one I wouldn't get is the dark green just because it doesn't really stand out.

Chevy 12-15-2004 12:56 AM

Nice car, of course what rx-8 isn't nice? To me the white stands out as pure and simple.

sup3rbad 12-15-2004 01:29 AM

to me white stands for JDM TIGHT!

Some of the best looking sports/sporty cars in my mind are the white FC RX7 Turbo II, white Supra, and white Integra Type R.

You are right,

The original mazda kit looks the nicest....so aggressive, yet subtle...love everything about it...

RXE16T 12-15-2004 02:36 AM

Stock or modded, the white 8 looks great IMO.
Most of the Jap manufacturers always seem to use white to showcase their aero products since the visual definition is better.........

and...
white BMW M3 (E30 chassis)
white BMW 6-series (E24 chassis, like the 635CSi)
white Lotus Esprit
white 911/930 (through ~1989, before it bloated up)

But some cars are best in another colour:
There's a particular rich, glossy red that Audi uses on the TT and A4 that I love. As much as I don't want a red car, I would take one of those in a heartbeat.

The NSX, and any Ferrari, are best in red. Also, the Renault Alpine A310.

There's a particular shade of blue that Toyota used for decades on the FJ40 & FJ55 Landcruisers which is, in my mind, inseperable. It would look horrible on anything else, and those old Landcruisers just *need* that blue. Same goes for that particular orangish-red on the original (British) Minis. It's iconic for that car, and wouldn't work at all anywhere else.

\\Konig\\ 12-15-2004 12:37 PM

IMO its all about the white IMO IMO IMO IMO IMO IMO

I concur.

white is soo nice. Especially with the app package. Well done!

boothguy 12-20-2004 01:49 AM

Hey - I know all those spots in your pix, Whitehot. My wife and I vacation on Kauai every year. The white looks great and would definitely have been in play for me if it had been available last year (this year?). Judging from your selection of photo locales, I'm guessing you're an eastsider? Saw two 8s in Princeville last May, but no response from the forum. Tell these guys (and me too) about driving the 8 from Hanalei to Haena.

I'm actually westside. Those pictures are all on the road up to Kokee. Its my favorite road to cruise and I live only about 5 minutes away. It does tend to get clogged up with rental cars if I go at the wrong time. :D One of these days I will get some pictures from north shore side. I haven't really met any of the other 8 owners over here yet.

Ahh, now I know why I got the Nordic Green. :)

RX-Hachi 12-20-2004 01:34 PM

Smooth! Very nice pics! I love the white, and I'd get white rims too if I had your car. Did you ship your car over from Oahu? I was just over in Kauai a few months back, on the drive to Waimea Canyon I kept thinking damn I wish I was in my RX-8. Then I see your pretty white car over looking the canyon, lucky you!

boothguy 12-20-2004 03:42 PM

Yeah, how DO you get a Mazda on Kauai anyhow?

Whitehot 12-20-2004 05:09 PM

There is a Mazda/Ford dealer on the island. Rx-8's usually come in one at a time. I think most of them are ending up north shore side. There aren't too many of them, which is nice...

Photic 12-20-2004 06:50 PM

I'm not a fan of white cars, but that sure looks like the cats pajamas.
Yellow cars make my eyes bleed, but I sure wouldn't turn down a yellow lambo.
