Thanks for all the compliments guys. I might be able to snag a few more videos next few days.

Thanks. There are no drift events left this season around here, so I do it as safely as I can. Still illegal, but safety is covered.

haha, yeah. This car likes to snap back straight if you try to shift mid drift. 2nd is the magic gear for the stock car.

I'd tell ya, but then I wouldn't want it to kill ya. I don't want to be responsible for someone wrecking their car due to my instructions.

Alot of my friends always ask for me to teach them, and I just say no. Its not something you teach and they pickup right away for sure.

awesome drift man. Now I really wanna go out and give it a shot, especially after watching TOYKO DORIFTUUU!!!>!>!> ha. Awful movie, but fun for car lovers...sorta. Anyway, we all know the 8's are awesome sliding in the wet, which is not cheating, it's just easier to slide it.

But how well do you think a stock 8 could on dry pavement?

Thanks. Yes, awful movie, yet I own all 3

As far as on pavement, it does quite well actually. Its just underpowered, so everything has to be exaggerated, such as revving higher it to break loose, adding a bit more whip with the rev, higher revs, etc. I have drifted mine a bit in the dry, but in the wet its much more fluid(duh right?). I think with a Pettit supercharger, or any type of turbo kit which hits majority of the power by about 4-5 grand, with about another 100hp, this car would be an unreal drifter in the dry. Combine that with a drift setup suspension(mine is stock) and steering(i had the car go so far that i was drifting with the wheels at full lock, would have been nice to have some extra angle) i think it would dominate. Which makes me wonder why there aren't more 8 drift cars.

I own all three as well...and I find I have to watch them all in a row anytime I feel the need to just watch one

Yea. That's what a few people here have said, that drifting the car, the wheel is almost 3/4 turned either way, and you really have to whip it around, either flick it into the turn or just bounce off the limiter, which I don't mind due to the sound of the car. I would love to just find a place to practice and really get good with the car because I love my 8 so much. Not to mention, how sick would it be just to have a video of your 8 doing some crazy drift with the rev's just screaming off the limiter. *shivers*

sorry for two posts in a row, but yea, NEVER do this unless you have a controlled (as best as possible) and safe environment. I know Summit Point has a slick track where you can practice car control in the wet, and I think they have open drift days too. I'll do a bit more research on that.

lol, I don't mind it when its wet though. I take it slow and it glides without unecessary force. All the grease and oil is raised by the water anyway. Stupid of me but I might aswell have some fun while the track is closed.
oh. my bad. Yea that's true. Fresh rain is probably the best for the reasons you just said. Alright, this may be considered a threadjack, but what would your perfect drift car be?

Thanks for all the positive words guys! Makes me wanna get a few more videos, maybe with a car infront or behind me. I really wish they had more drift events this season. Rainy season is a great time for newbs or people who want their tires to last while learning to drift legally.

Honestly, i would love to drive a turboed or s/c rx8, with a decently stiff suspension setup, on a dry track. I think it would be really similar to my car in the rain. I think it could make a killing in the drift scene. Now if only I could arrange a test drive in one of the drift 8's... hmmmm...?
