so, i've seen some of my photos being used to show off your cars in other threads. that's fine by me as long as

1. you give me credit
2. you take the photos off of my flickr account. not the ones i posted in this thread. the only reason i posted my pics off of photobucket is because you can post them as thumbnails, which in turn lets the page load faster and you don't have to view everything. the photos on my flickr account are better quality, richer colors, and sharper. to post a picture off of a flickr account, you click 'All Sizes' at the top of the photo, and then find the image's URL when you scroll down. you then bracket the URL btwn [IMG][/IMG].

You should assign a creative commons license to your photos. I think you can do this within flickr.

Something like this http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/us/

Some more detail shots I experimented with:

On the way back to Phoenix we stopped here for gas, there was some old Diesel pumps to side. Photo Opp!

Thanks! I'm still a camera n00b but I want to pick up a D-SLR (eying the Canon Eos Rebel XS-i). I really like Macro shots where you can see all the nice details, and HDR pics (but I don't know how to do those yet!).

I'm glad you had fun using the camera. The few pics I did take were when we stopped for gas in Palm Springs.
Easy pulled into the shade by the diesel pumps and instant photo shoot.

Lena,
Are you still using the 20D that you had at last years SS?

HDR isn't too hard just bracket 2 full stops both ways from optimal exposure using only shutter speed. (You end up with 5 photos) Then go into photoshop and play with file > automate > merge to HDR. (One full stop doubles or halves the amount of light.)

The minimum is a 3 picture bracket, but 5 or more is better. You can generally get a feel of how many by looking at the shots, both ends of the bracket should be quite dark or fully blown out. (Look at your histogram)

And make sure you disable any automatic exposure pre/post processing in your camera. Oh and a tripod can help.
