Spoiler looks pretty good...id say paint the fins to color match the car...might not stand out too much....just my 2 cents haha.

All i can say is wow!!! I did not know that putting on a thread about a different spoiler fitting the rx-8 would create such anamosity.

I did to help if anyone was stuck with the idea of finding a different spoiler to put on thier car.

And all i seem to get are Pr**ks trying to diss my car because i choose to put fins on the roof. F*ck me i don't like the look of quite a few car's on this site but i don't go round bitchin about it, if you don't agree or don't like something keep your opinions to yourselves.

This is supposed to be a positive site not a place to slag off peoples rides.

And as for the benefits of the fins i know they have worked so you can keep your youtubes and your text books and shove em upyour ****.

Also the spoiler is dressed in carbon weeve vynal the same as my bonnet which i think looks quality.

So i say each to your own and if you don't like something then tuff it aint your car so why worry!!

He didnt ask for anyone's opinion on his damn vortex generator fins. People need to stop hating on each other's cars...

I came from a Honda background and this community is FAR worse when it comes to haters.

 

I like the wrx spoiler better than the stocker with the Monaro sp. a close 2nd to it. I would paint it and not use the lip spoiler, somtimes less is more. Just my opinion of course, I like the votex's on the Evo MR but wouldnt do it to my 8, but its your car and if you like it then by all means enjoy!

I would do the wrx wing, I think the 8 looks naked w/out one.

Please clarify, does that soobie wing come on any US WRX's? If so what year? thanks

Take the good with the bad man. Don't get so upset it's only the internet, you can't hear tone in the form of text. Many things said are not all that bad just stating they don't like it. I prefer hearing if people like or dislike something I did on my car. Let's face it, cosmetics are not for your own pleasure.
With that being said I don't mind the wing, but I agree with most the lighting is too much. One or the other or none at all put one inside the back window.

 

The only reason I replied to the fins was because I know they don't work. No need for such a "colorful" reply. Face it not everyone is going to like (or agree) with everything people do, part of life.

Now if you said, "I like the fins and enjoy the look" then I can comply and understand. But you stating that they were specially designed and placed for your application is a complete lie, thus my post.

Other than that matter, I do like the spoiler.

So the spoiler just fits the trunk, or the bolt mounting holes line up with the stock spoiler mounting holes? Direct fit?

Also if you are going to put pictures up of your car and invite everyone to come and look at it then you should be prepared for ANY comments people will make.

See, that comment above is really not needed at all because it does nothing to another's efforts to work on their car and have some pride.

If one has facts to show and IF one has been asked, then go ahead and post things like _ Vortex Gen's =fail. It was good enough for the Mitsu engineers to do, not a trick from marketing.

I'd suggest that the forum moderator allows one big screw up like R1Cky posted and if there is the second one, that would be cause for the writer to be banned from the forum. Stuff like this went on far too long at 3SI.org car club forum and over the course of 5 years, the club site is now mostly for kids. The experienced ones started their own called 3STech forum where bad mouthed comments didn't prevail and posters couldn't write, e.g. " Well, I knew this guy who_ or, I heard there was some research_" etc. All that did was mess up new folks and irritate the old guys, like me.
We all have had those bad days but saying stuff like R1cky did is not useful or funny. I'd expect that from un-socialized teenagers but not from this group.

FWIW_ The rear spoiler looks good!

they help keep the air flowing straight off the back of the top of the car. check out open wheel and F1 cars in the wind tunnels on goodle and youtube

 

I don't like the vortex generators and I don't think they do anything performance-wise on an 8. Each to their own though, don't let everyone else tell you how to do your car.

As for the topic of the thread, I really like the WRX spoiler on the 8, it seems like the best match to me. The GTO spoiler is an interesting fit since the thin wide lines seem to complement those of the car's body, but there's a Joe Camel phallic edge to it.

Does anyone have a link to studies of how much of an effect various shape spoilers have on the performance of the 8 at high speeds?

Spoiler doesnt look bad, but it looks to be the same basic shape as the GTO spoiler, just a bit narrower. FWIW, I prefer the GTO spoiler.
