SBM SII on BBS RSs

So, a buddy of mine and I got bored this weekend and decided to throw his rebuilt RSs from his B6 Passat wagon on the 8.....

Any interest I ever had in what RSs look like on an RX-8 is now quelled. Awkward looking? IMO, yes.

Close! They're actually 5x112. These centers were re-drilled from 5x114.3, and as such, are dual bolt pattern.
A lot of people seem to like it, but after seeing my 8 on it's RPF1s for the better part of 4 months, the RSs looked really awkward in person...hahah.

---edit---
Forgot to mention...the Passat also runs a smaller center hub bore, so these particular wheels never would have really worked.
Like I mentioned in my first post, this was purely for ***** and giggles.

i was gonna have at this a while ago, but the look was debatable. i think it works tbh maybe it would work a lil better with slightly chunkier tires. this was my pshop attempt:

IMHO, the two things that makes these look so bizarre are 1.] these are a 17" face, upsized to 18" by way of the lips, so the wheels appear tiny with how large the RX-8's fenders are. and 2.] these particular wheels have a bubble lip, which is essentially a quarter round. Most 8's, in my experience, have a step lip on their wheels, which seems to offset the curves of the body well. These lips make the already smaller faces appear even smaller, which is strange on an RX-8.

-edit-
Oh...and I suppose the 215/35 series tires on this particular set is what made it look so weird to me, coming from 255/40s that are always on the car...hahah.
-------

It's interesting to see that people are digging it...I honestly thought it looked bizarre, and not really in the theme/style of the 8 when I was sitting there looking at the car. At the very least, now we have a real example on RSs, so we can stop referring to shoops or just plain guessing :].
