Nice footage, good race...yeah the S2000 is a great sounding car, it pulls very nice, I'm not surprised by how it gets going when it hit's 4th gear. If I had to use pistons everyday I like what sits under the hood of the 00-03 S2000.

Interesting sound but it's coming from the 8...

 

The s2k shouldn't have pulled on the 8 like THAT. I've raced an S2K and he pulled on me, but not like that. Pretty much, I hung with him. So much so that after we exited the highway (no not a street race, but a very empty highway where we encountered each other at about 55mph), he was VERY curious about RX-8s and their speed and power. He was definitely modded and a pretty good shifter too.

Man S2Ks are loud modded!!!

 

In the first video the guy in the 8 backed off a bit or missed shift. In the second the guy in the S2000 backed off. The cars pulled fairly even IMO.

 

yep. that was my observation when I raced ... actually a few. My friend owned one and he used to let drive it around once and a while. VERY similar to the 8 IMO.

so my question is...I loved that sound? but 1st of all was it coming from the rx8 or the s2000? and second does anyone know what exhaust that was? can anyone tell by the sound. that sounded sweet IMO!!!

It's coming from the 8. The exhaust tips don't look familiar but I'd say the car has a high flow cat or maybe none at all. Could be MS cat back.

The sound is DOHC VTEC, not available on the 8. The S2000 is a slightly quicker car, but the chasis dosen't have the feel of an RX8. Both cars have very unique and dynamic sounds.
