Doesn't get any tighter that this. This is where I store my 8 for the winter. What you can't tell is that it is just as tight of a squeeze on the other side as it is to that pole on the driver's side....inches.

And to get it there I had to back between those two poles then cut the wheels tight to swing the nose in. Took quite a bit of jockying around to get it there, but it fits! Snug as a bug.

 

New challenge?

I had to squeeze an NB Miata between two fence posts a few times getting it in and out of my back yard. The inner width between the posts was 1.2 inches wider than the width of the Miata once the mirrors were folded in. Average of .6 inches of room on either side.

 

New challange:

I want to see an 8 with ski racks loaded up with skis and/or snowboards headed for a day at the mountain.
