First time using a SLR Camera to shoot photos of my 8 and my girl's Firebird. any Suggestions to improve them?

uh try not using ur flash?

 

+1 for no flash. just start using the MF instead of auto. and shine your wheel wells if you're gonna use a flash...

 

Unfortunately, on camera flashes really are meant to make a situation visible, more than anything else. You lose many factors that make up a good photograph when you use the on camera flash - suggestion, try shooting when you can use natural lighting rather than the on camera flash. You'll be pushing out great photos in no time, I'm sure.
