I think the Explorer looks better than all the other cars.

The RX-8 looks ugly due to the incomplete body kit and hideous rims.

I was never a Cobalt fan although they're faster than the RX-8 on the track and Auto-X. (Yes, their suspension might even be better than the RX-8)

As for the Miata... it just look too plain.

Therefore, the random explorer is the best pic.

 

I know it sucks having a front plate, but it would be better if it was centered on the front bumper, not on the side like that.

 

^word... you're blocking your oil cooler and it looks really bad on the side like that.

 

I think the RX8 has no competition. Yes, not a Huge fan of the rims and the front plate can go, but it still kicks a**.

 

Another vote for moving your front plate for both functional reasons (oil cooler blockage) and looks -- butt ugly (sorry)...

 

his car is an automatic, it only has one oil cooler...i think it's on the driver side, so he is fine putting his plate there

im sure he has plans to complete the kit or atleast i hope he does, i think the photos would look better if it was just the rx8 but im really not a fan of the other two cars. but the pics look nice. i like the first one. but i agree with everyone else, move the plate or just take it off, once you get two or more warning then put it back on. you can always tell the cop that your car is going back into the body shop to get the rest of the kit on and you just forgot about the plate. you will get away with it, i've gotten away with less believable excusses in Illinois and they hate college students who drive nice cars around here!!

 

Yes, My car is an AUTO! thats why the plate is where it is and I have gotten plenty of tickets and warnings for it so that is why it is on. Also i cant put it in the windshield either (ive tried).. and it started off as a base model with nothing on it.Yes, I am going to finish the kit, they are expensive parts so its harder for a college guy to afford those. As well for the rims, they might be going sometime this year for some other ones... Thanks for your imput

wow, that was a lot more hating than normally goes on with a fellow 8er. i've seen a few others on here with the same set up for sides and MS front and they have nice looking cars. as for the wheels, they're not my cup of tea but they aren't the worst i've seen.

and the front plate is something that some have to live with. i ran with it off for the longest time but after 4 friends (one who is on these boards) got ticketed recently, i now have mine zip tied. i also have it off-center b/c i didn't want it blocking my AEM CAI. there are too many a-hole cops in my town that even ticket other cops so they're not looking to let anyone off if they pull you over. i'll probably take mine off after the 4th of july when ticketing cools down but it is what it is.

 

Nice pics. Love the stock MS Miata. Would love one. Would agree, if you're going to put front plate on. I think centering is better and the lower the better. Plus you're blocking one of the oil coolers and that's not great.

I saw the Miata doesn't have a front plate - maybe you can get away with not having one or are cops in Ill. ****?

 

Thanks, The cops are real **** here. i have gotten a couple of tickets for the front plate so i put the plate back on.. and Im an auto so its not blocking an oil cooler

Yes, the front I have now is a replica and I hate it. so im buying the Authentic MazdaSpeed stuff now which takes a while to save up for.. The spoiler will be coming later this month

 

Good luck with the conversion. If you're going to go MS, get the front and the sides. I think the MS rear (had one myself) is ugly and the kit looks better with MS front, sides and appearance package (rear flares) rear. It'll save you some money too. You could go front and sides and see if you like it that way first.

 

Thanks for the input.. I myself feel the same way. I've never been a big fan of the rear. I might paint my black plastic gray to match my car or the MS gray that comes on the kit
