RX-8 copcar on road of Tokyo
got from some japanese site.
They are working in Tokyo area, but I have not seen it on road yet.
......gas price is around 4 - 5 usd (1 gallon) in Tokyo.

Well they are 16in wheels on it so its hard to say. They could be low power 5spds, autos, or 6-ports with 16in wheels. I know they use to have FD cop cars in Japan, along with skylines and what not.

The 8 must make a terrible cop car. There’s no room for prisoners, it gets terrible gas mileage, and your not catching any of those pacific muscle cars. I hope the guys driving it get some serious backup.

Cruel and unusual punishment - Splitting the rear and the front of the 8, and making the prisoners squeze into the back seat with the front door closed. :D

Well, gotta agree with Pksull77... I love my 8, but for police work - I'd take a Crown Vic' all day long. Could you imagine doing a "Pitts Manuever" in a 2,900 lbs. car?

Japan has a lot of very narrow streets, a quick and agile car like the RX-8 that out handles most cars is what you need. The Crown Vic would be a like driving an elephant through some of those narrow side alleys.

Now that is what a police escort should be, I believe I would write home to mom about that one if I were still stationed abroad. That would be a ride to remember.
