If you guys are serious about this you are going to need to plan some things out. You are going to need format requirements such as picture resolution, size or the calendar, layout consideration, all these should be desided first then seek out the cars/people that you are interested in and if need be have those people reshoot or shoot new pics that meet those requirements. heres a quick PS of what Im trying to convey. A Graphic Designer can speak to this point better than I, regardless I still think you should resolve this first.

^^^ thats because there is a **** ton of informal stuff thats already come up, I mean seriously this isnt the first, or tenth, time this has come up already, do it right or dont do it.
Your asking someone to fork over $15-$25 bucks, why would you pay that money for something that was "informal", when they could probably make their own desktop calendar for free.

I have an idea for layout of the calendar. Have a large pic of the exterior as the main focus have a smaller pic of the engine bay in one of the corners overlapping the large one and have a list of the mods they have done along the bottom of the page. What do u guys think?

i'm not complaining about the price, but all these exact image sizes and dimensions and release forms is a bit much, for me. my understanding of this was to create a "forum" calendar where we get 12-24 pictures of member's rides and print them, end of story. you can take great, high quality pics with a typical point n shoot camera and print them for an 8x10 calendar; i've done it. if we want some uber professional calendar, let's just all pay altspace or a.mair to make it, lord knows it'd be better than a hodge podge of member's pictures...but again, i was under the impression the very POINT of this was to get 12-24 DIFFERENT cars in there to represent the forum's rides.
so yeah, less formal, more of a 'hey, we all got a calender with pictures of jedi, atilla, rev, topgear, etc." i don't want a professionally shot calendar, i can go buy that from bn.com.
oh, and "informal" doesn't mean shitty quality, imo

being formal or informal has nothing to do with photoshopping images or having the right camera, all of my pics Ive ever posted on this forum have been PS'd point n shoots, its more for setting expectations for people so its somewhat cohesive.
Maybe as a suggestion we put out a "themes requirments" where the main theme for that month is selected and people can compete for that slot. This idea is more stemmed off of what TopGear may be interested in or brought up.
ie- September being "track pic month" then anyone who is interested in submitting track pics can compete for the month of september.
And this doesnt need to be the case for every month but it might help people focus in a more sensible way

^ok - i see what you're saying. i guess my point was ambiguous. i'm ok with structure, themes, rules, etc. ...i just don't want the end product to be one or two people professional photographers who just end up taking all 12-24 pics. i mean, i'm sure that would look awesome, but i'd rather have a good compilation of many different member's cars. sorry for the confusion.
also - did the op, or anyone else, offer to actual MAKE the calendar? i mean, is anyone in charge of putting together layouts, etc.? i guess one step at a time...we all gotta vote on specific pictures...

Alright guys, just to clear the air a bit, this is a calendar by the people, for the people.
In the next thread I'm about to post, it'll give you some guide lines as to what to expect.
This isn't going to be difficult.
Look for the new thread.. this one should be considered closed, now that I know there's interest in it.

wow guys, this isn't rocket science here, it's just a random calendar we're making.
This isn't a new idea, we did this with the San Bernardino group 4 years ago with the help of a few forum members.
We posted up a few pics, people picked which ones they liked best, originals were emailed and the person putting the calendar cropped the pics to fit in the alloted space and a few weeks later, BINGO... we had calendars.
While pro photographers such as altspace and A. Mair would probably take the best pics, I'm not necessarily looking for that, I think I'd rather have a good calendar with exciting cars then amazing pictures of semi-stock cars. That's not a knock on anyone, just my $.02
