Hi I am new to this post and new to the import scene.
I have this game called auto-modelista from Japan for ps2 and I am using rx-8 as my base car, well what I am trying to get at is dam the body kit on that car in that game is crazy. The mazdaspeed one is crazy 2, but u guys have to check that game out and see the body kit. Its made by capcom and they say the car model, sound, engine, body kit there are exact as the car model " turbo, body kit" in real life, so is there that body kit out or the game making a sick body kit that's imaginary... it says c-west though. AND WOW U GUYS KNOW GREAT KNOWLEDGE ON THE RX-8, and oh yeah I just pre-ordered a silver rx-8 /grand touring package... picking it up from romero mazda next month.

Welcome to the Forum! You're dealer is smokin' sumthin, or just trying to make a sale (no, please don't say a Mazda sales person would do that). There will be no RX-8s arriving here next month. They'll only be starting production of units destined for the US late this month/early April. Suffice it to say you'll wait at least two months from today, closer to 3. But it's worth the wait!!!

i would be and here is why in a quote from mazdausa in an email to me:

"Please keep in mind that production for the pre-sale RX-8 does not even start until April."

yup, any news that you may see or hear about RX-8's built thus far are for the JDM market and not destined for export.

Well, my dealer suggested that they are quoting delivery dates farther out than is needed. He said that they are doing this because before the Tribute was released, they were saying it would be available in say 1 month, but when it didn't get delivered on time, there were alot of pissed-off customers. He said that Mazda learned their lesson and are purposely quoting longer wait times... Anyway, it's not official or anything, so, just food for thought.

In response to this thread , I contacted my Mazda officals (not dealership people) and they assured me that there has been no step up in delivery times. In addition to time needed for production, there is delivery via ship from Japan + prep time at the docks, where final emmisions and destination installations will be made, then shipping to the dealers on top of that.. pray for your April delivery and be happy when it gets here at the end of May.

(FWIW - I wish you were right, but I don't think that will be the case this time)

I put 5k down on the rx-8... and the dealer told me that the car will be coming next month. I am not 2 sure if his right or wrong but he says something about it next month. I am going back tomorrow and get more info on what he said, but I thought he said 2 me that its coming next month.

And does anyone here have automodelista and check up on that body kit?

no no... not the picture of the rx-8 in the game... I mean the mods for the rx-8. I got the game @ home, and on the game this rx-8 got a sick *** body kit... I was wondering if the body kit in the game exist in real life. The body kit in the game looks real sweet.. and capcom says everything is as is to the real counter parts so I was wondering if the body kit on the game is also on real life.

when did this thing come out?? and is that a pic of a replay, or what?? what's the gameplay like?? is it worth me picking up?? i mean, i liked RR5, buuuuuut kinda got old fast, not challenging enough (GT3 is just about right on that side could get tougher though)... and (most importantly) can i get it here in Canada in english, or am i gonna have to tough it out with the Japanese (i have before, for FF4 and some bits of FF5 through the .roms i could find... just not translated :o)

That game is a mix of tokyo extreme racing / grand tourismo 3, but mainly import cars. I dont have a camera and not much experience in computers to put pictures where I am dieing to show. If u do have the game, u know what I mean... the body kit is .... droolling....

HOLY SHMOKES!! :D this game is BEAUTIFUL!!! :D!! the next paycheck is gonna pay for this, "The Fast Runner" dvd, annnnnd... i dunno, a helluva date or two but this is on my list. :D

Yeah, it looks like a pretty sweet game. Last I checked it hits stateside March 26th.

There apparenly will be a options catalog coming out in May that will have options that the dealer can add to a pre-ordered car.

Example: a spoiler, the metal gas cap thingy, the metal "fins" behind the front wheels, and some body kits stuff. There is a thread on this some where....

I hate to disappoint you, but you will not be getting a 8 next month. People on this board ordered in Jan might get one next month if frogs can fly :o)
