Team Spenser had multiple problems in the early evening and pulled in the garage to fix them. They returned to the race, but pulled out later. I didn't get to find out why.
Goldin Brothers were working on the transmission when they were in the garage. Again I don't know the final reason for their withdraw from the race.
Goldin Brothers developed their car first before the Mazdaspeed cars (as used by Team Spencer & Speedsource) came out. I believe the Mazdaspeed cars use a transaxle, whereas the Goldin Brothers car uses a conventional street transmission.

 

I was talking to the Goldin Bros about their issues. They went through 2 transmissions, both of which were fixed. Later on, they had a throttle linkage issue that they had to go to the garage for. Then, they didn't want to go back out after that. They were great guys and very friendly. I didn't get a chance to talk to Team Spencer.

 

I figured they dropped out but wasn't sure why.
